Yes, it's that time of month again. The portrait has been updated for
the third time, it's now looking much busier (hooray!) and has wonderful
name captions for all (double hooray and many huggles in the general
direction of Lothaekor). I've altered the background to better meld
with the statue background, and I think I'll probably leave it like
that, since anything more detailed is simply going to get lost behind
all the people. Thankyou and many apologies to those who sent me
backgrounds, they were all beautiful, but too much for the portrait!

That address again:
http://minkirri.apana.org.au/~emann/portrait.htm

Current participants: Asrai, Sserpenthraxus, Zon, Fortuna, me, Pyros,
Terratek, Jrrhack, ISO, Baxil, Jia, Grall, Akilah, Weyrlady, Artlan,
Quelonzia, Happy K, Dawnfire, Kiruu, Dest, Mithent, Tanda, Winged Wolf,
Karenji, Tamf and Wertle.

Soon to be participants (last time I heard...): Rankor, Cents, Bree and
Purrzah, Devio, Raudrin, Cira, Eredien, Chronoss and Servante.

As usual, all afd-ers are welcome, all you need is a picture of
yourself. I have some relatively un-hectic time coming up, so those who
are in need of picture help let me know and I'll see what I can organise
with artists...

WTTW all!

Hi! :)

I want to be a part of this portrait!

What do you need for a 'picture':an actual picture of my character, or will
a description suffice?

Ooooo! I know I'm not a long time AFDer but can I be in it? I got a
piccie of myself and everything freshly fixed on the computer to get rid
of scanner screw ups. I'll send it to you by e-mail, unless that is you
would prefer another method?

Nice group portrait BTW.

I think I mentioned this before, but well done - it's an excellent job! And
many thanks to Lothaekor as well for making it so much easier to see who it is
in the picture. And to Jia, of course, to drawing me! :)

Thanks, but a couple of problems, first that the writing covers much of

the picture, second (and more important) that I probably can't use it

for copyright reasons. But we could probably find someone to draw you

I'm not quite sure how it happened, but when I installed Win98 on my
comp, it boosted the resolution up to something I'd never heard of
before... 1280x1024. It's really good for somethings, but it makes
most normal graphics look horifically small.

You really think there would be someone out there willing to
give their take on Corkasus? It would be interesting if it
didn't
exactly mirror the game's monster...

Looks terrific, Hespa! Lothaekor did a great job with the name
captions, too. :)

Know what I especially like about the portrait? By including the
Statute of the Unknown Dragon, you include all of those who couldn't
be in it. *softsmiles*

*BIGHUGS* Great project, hon.

There are usually a few voluteers from the ng itself, to save me looking
elsewhere... anyone?? There's an artist called Tal (not an
afd-er, but a friend of... er... Jawz, if I remember correctly...) who's
supposed to be doing a fair few, but I imagine he's got enough for now.

Thankyou! I got your email and pic, but for some reason the server
daemons keep throwing my response email back at me, so here it is...

Thanks, I got it. It's very good!! I will have to keep you on the
right of the portrait, since otherwise part of your tail would be
obviously missing, but that's fine. Very good background, too, although
you won't have it in the portrait since it would look rather odd against
the rest of the background, and obscure quite a few dragons.
Nonetheless, I am ready to put you in the picture, all I need now is
your size, please, in feet for preference.

Yup. There's a reason Sluggy Freelance went to war with Dilbert,
instead of C&H. Between Hobbes and the transmogrifier gun,
the gang wouldn't have stood a chance.

Nah, I think Sluggy Freelance would have won. The transmogrifier is
easily matched by Riff's omnitaser or the flux agitator (even if Calvin
would probably enjoy being transported by the latter), and not even
Hobbes could stand against Bun-bun (he's just not violent enough)...
however, 'tis a moot point, since the two comics are allies in spirit.
I'd like to see them gang up against Blondie.

That's okay I would guess that you would haveta cut off the
background since it would look kinda odd. I'm not totally sure about my
size in width since I've never measured myself but I am generally 200
feet tall. I stand on two legs normally but I was just lying down in
that piccie. Hope this helps

Hooray, you got the message! I've already cut off the
background, so that's OK. You're 200' tall standing on four
legs, or two? I should be able to figure it out from that...

*big munch* Yummy.

I have gained permission to use a picture that represents me
quite well. However, it is of a much older example of my
species;
it could well be my grandfather.

200 feet standing on two legs from head to toe.

Please note that this measurement does NOT include my tail which is 190
feet long

'Tis a beautiful picture! With one small flaw... it's only a
head. I could probably still use it if you are very large,
simple stick it in an upper corner or between a couple of other
dragon... What size are you?

Very small, only 4' at the shoulder. I have a penchant for
roosting on other draks' shoulders, so maybe you can use that.
If
not, just work me in however you can. I'm not picky. =]

*grins* I like the fact that Watterson refused to explain that. 'Tis a
rebuke to those who take comics too pedantically.

Anyway, just take Hobbes as Hobbes is, without making him a topic for
philosophy.

not quite :) i (tal) volunteered my rl mate (ie bf) julian as artist. he's
drawn Takenthra, and we've lost the list of the other draks he was gonna
draw. also, i havent had NG access for about 3 weeks (computer problems &
holiday) so i havent had a chance to remind people.

so: any one wanting a portrait (pls be patient if it takes some time!!!)
email/icq me (i'm also around on the muck) with a description.
