In the Death Gate Cycle, you introduced Zifnab as a character and
strongly hinted that he was Fizbane (he caught himself before we could
find out for sure). We know Fizbane's role on Krynn but what is Zifnab's
in Death Gate? He some sort of good force but it's not really clear as
to what he does.

Zifnab was actually a Sartan wizard who opposed the council's
decision to sunder the world. Zifnab is not a god ... indeed, he
is actually a chosen and blessed subject of the dragon-avatars of
the Death Gate series.
I hope this helps.

Didn't Margaret explain this once by saying that "Zifnab read an awful
lot of books when he was young"?

I always thought Zifnab represented the good side of the " Wave" in the Death
Gate Cycle books. Nobody knows how he works and he doesnt make any sense
sometimes, but then again, nobody is quite sure how the Wave works either...
Oh well. "He moves in mysterious ways." (Long live U2! heh)

Thank ye Tracy. When the ramblings about Fizban = Zifnab discussions
went on, no1 really seemed to pay attention to the fact that I thought
they were different... (: I certainly am glad they're not. (:

Oh, I always thought that the name Zifnab was someone trying to be clever
by having an alias which was an anagram of Fizban. I had no idea he was a
character in his own right. Apologies for any misunderstanding.
No offense taken..but I'd still like to be considered clever (:
