responsible for the early English dub of Dragonball Z, requiring silly
lines in order to edit out even IMPLIED violence. It was under Saban's
clutches that the infamous "other dimension" phrase was used
frequently. Then, in episode 68, FUNimation took over the dub.
References to killing and death seeped in, and references to another
dimension was slowly phased out.
So now I will provide the Sabanized translation of these episodes,
using Sabanized quotes
68- "Ginyu Assault"
Goku (after Vegeta kills Burter and Jeice): Why did you send them
to another dimension?
70- "Frieza Approaches"
Nail (after Frieza uses his whirlwind attack to blow away the other
Namekian guards): At leasr they managed to get away.
72 "Calling the Eternal Dragon"
Vegeta (confronting Frieza's guards): I'm your ticket to the next
dimension.
73- "Gohan, Defeat Your Dad!"
Vegeta (after killing Jeice): Enjoy the next dimension

King Kai (after Krillin is killed): Krillin is now in this dimension.
97- "Nameks' Destruction"
King Kai (after Frieza attacks Namek): Frieza couldn't defeat Goku,
so he attacked the planet itself.
Tien Shinhan: And if Goku couldn't get a parachute, he's in this
dimension now!
King Kai (speaking with Kami): Where are you?
Kami: Why, on Earth.
King Kair: then, if you're in your dimension, so is Piccolo.
Kami: Why yes. I can not stay in this dimension unless Piccolo is
here with me.
King Kai: And if Piccolo is still in your dimension, then Namek is
still there!
99- "Approaching Destruction"
King Kai: So then Shenron could bring more than one person back to
your dimension per wish?
Kami: Why yes.
King Kai: And he can bring back people to your dimension whether or
not they left your dimension from Earth.
Kami: I don't see why he can't.
King Kai: Then change the wish. Have Shenron bring back everyone
Frieza sent to my dimension. That would include all the Namekians.
Kami: But when Namek explodes, they'll go back to your dimension.
King Kai: Not necessarily. Guru should return to yiour dimension.
Kami: But Guru's passage was due to his time in this dimension
expiring naturally.
King Kai: No, Frieza's cruelty broke his heart. He could not take
the strain, and passed on. Thus, a wish bringing Frieza's victims back
to your dimension includes Guru. And there was still one wish with the
Namekian balls, so when Guru comes back, so does the Namekian dragon.
We then use the last wish to bring everyone except Frieza to Earth.
Kami: That's brilliant, King Kai. But if Guru does return, he will
only be in this dimension for a short time.
101- "the Last Wish"
Goku (after Porunga grants the third wish): We used Earth's dragon
balls to wish your victims back to this dimension. That brought the
dragon of Namek back to this dimension too, and he sent everyone but
us to Earth. Now it's just you and me.
106- "Namek's Explosion... Goku's End?"
King Kai: But Frieza fired one last blast at Goku, so Goku firted
back, sending Frieza to this dimension.
Chao-tsu: So Goku finally did it.
King Kai: No, even in winning, he lost. Planet Namek is about to
explode. Unless Goku can escape in time, he will be in this dimension.
Yamcha: You're underestimating him. I've known him since he was a
little kid. He's been in some pretty hairy situations, but he always
managed to get out of it. If there's a way out, he'll find it. He's
like the Great Houdini or something.
Tien Shinhan: I'm sure there's a parachute somewhere on Namek.
King Kai (after Namek is gone): I can't sense Goku anywhere.
Tien Shinhan: Without any parachutes, he's in this dimension now!
