Cuz the R sounds in Japanese are sounded like L's sometimes, so I
guess the spelling on his hat was a romanization of his name. In
katakana it is Ku-ri-ri-n, though.

See, there are a couple of exceptions. But the 'r' sound and the 'h' sound
when pronounced correctly sound sort of like 'l' and 'f' anyway.

well, her names a gag on "Bloomer" right? A.T. spelled it "Bluma"
but the way they *pronounce* it is slightly different from that
spelling....if U listen it sounds like their saying "Buh-Lu-Ma".
I guess A.T. just decided to spell it phonetically on the hat.
of course, there are others here who know more about the
J-language than I so maybe they can contribute more on this?
