Filler or canon question: Ginyu takes over Bulma

What is canon and what is filler is kinda blurring together. I haven't
watched much of the new dub because I was going back to grad school.

Anyways, I reacll in the old anime from a decade ago a scene during
the Frieza fight where Ginyu takes over Bulma. Was that considered
canon or filler? It's been too long and I can't find my old bookmark
to the website that listed what was filler and what wasn't.
Did Ginyu briefly take over Bulma, or was that anime-only?
