Cartoon Network showed the last episode of GT last night. I'm relatively new
to the whole DB thing - maybe a few years into it (I started watching it
with my son in the afternoons on Cartoon Network - I believe it was the Buu
saga). It was a cool feeling waiting for Saturday nights and watching these
GT episodes for the first time. And after watching last nights episode, it
made me want to watch ALL of the DB sagas. It was kind of sad seeing it come
to an end.

Anyway, I heard a rumor that a new series is in the works ... is this BS ?

Well, if you've got some money lying around I suggest getting the DVDs so
you can watch it uncut, all the way from the start of Dragonball and all the
way through Dragonball Z.

Yes, it is.

Where are those sold? Really uncut? As in nothing at all removed or changed
from the japanese originals? I wouldn't even mind getting them in the
original japanese with english subtittles. They could be an incentive to
learn japanese.

Then go purchase the official Funimation DVDs of DB and DBZ and enjoy
the show in its original format (Japanese). It's a whole new experience
and you'll get to enjoy the series all over again.

You can get pretty much anywhere. FUNimation's own store is www.zstore.com
(probably not the cheapest option), but almost any US DVD store should be
able to get them, places like Amazon, etc. If you live in a country that
uses PAL (instead of NTSC as used by the US and Japan), then the Australian
version released by Madman Entertainment (www.madman.com.au) would be a good
idea.

The DVDs feature the both the original, Japanese-language version with
English subtitles and the uncut version of FUNimation's English version. So
yes, they are totally and completely uncut. The only thing missing are the
original Japanese next-episode previews, which TOEI (the Japanese animation
studio) for some reason never gave to FUNi.

Beware though, there are some DVDs out there of the first 13 episodes of
Dragonball and the first 50 or so episodes (the first two seasons) of
Dragonball Z that are *not* uncut, and have no Japanese version. I'm not
entirely sure if uncut versions of those are already available. I know for
certain that the first 13 episodes of Dragonball (known collectively as "the
Saga of Goku") is available uncut in Australia, but I think not in the US at
the moment. The first part of DBZ is not yet out uncut in Australia, and I
suspect also not in the US, but again I'm not certain.

Lets not forget about the movies. The first 3 are edited and not
available in dual-language format. But the rest are uncut and have the
original japanese dialogue. So far the first 9 movies out of 13 have
been released in this country

No the first 3 movies are uncut as well. Pioneer did include the
japanese version on the dvds.
