Character: Ryan Tanaka, the Digi-Mancer

Appearance:
Ryan wanders the Digital World in the traditional robes of a temple
priest's apprentice. His often-messy hair is a dark brown and he
carries a Wizardmon's staff.

Personality:
Ryan has a respect for all things, but is idealistic and is willing
to
fight for a cause.

Background:
Although training to be a temple priest like his father, Ryan has a
love of technology. After receiving his D-X Digivice, he spent much
of
his spare time attempting to figure out how it works and why he
didn't
get a Digimon. He eventually found that it used DigiRunes to cast
spells of a sort and that the combination of any Source DigiRune,
Ifstream, and Desutinashun opened a gateway to the Digital World.
Unfortunately, it didn't open the way back to Earth, and now Ryan
searches for a way home.

Equipment:
Ryan carries a Wizardmon's staff for protection and a D-X Digivice
that uses DigiRunes for various effects. A recent software upgrade
allows him to use simple voice commands to activate his spells rather
than having to name each DigiRune each time like he used to.

Sidekick: Wizardmon
Wizardmon prefers playing music to fighting and carries a guitar.
Ryan saved Wizardmon and he lent him his staff as a reward.

The DigiRunes

The DigiRunes that compose Ryan's spells consist of three types:
Source, Command, and Variable. Currently, Ryan is only capable of
using
three or five (but not four) DigiRunes at once, but it is possible to
use more. One must find the runes in order to use them.

Source DigiRunes
Source DigiRunes represent ancient Digimon war gods: the rapid
D-Reaper, the powerful Catalyst, and the clever Antibody. It has
been
noted that D-Reaper had the advantage over Catalyst, Catalyst was
more
powerful than Antibody, and Antibody always outwitted D-Reaper. It
is
said the Juggernaut kept their forces in check, but its DigiRune is
rare
and hard to find.

Source
D-Reaper (Speed)
Catalyst (Power)
Antibody (Sniper)
Juggernaut (Omni)
Command
Ifstream (Upload)
Ofstream (Download)
Lokawai (Encrypt)
Rubout (Delete)
Cherlok (Decipher)
Plugen (Upgrade) (used to power-up spells)
Variables
Taema (User)
Digijin (Entity)
Aitim (Object)
Desutinashun (Location)

Ryan is still missing Juggernaut and Lokawai.

Known Spells:

These are the spells I created for use with DigiRunes. They're not
written in the ancient DigiDialect that they are in the CG and
stories,
though. The lowest level (three-point, no upgrade runes) of the
spells
are shown here and the letter X is there to substitute for the
God/Source DigiRunes (D-Reaper, Catalyst, Antibody, and
Juggernaught).
There are two other levels of spells that can be cast under normal
circumstances, and for each level two upgrade runes must be included.
Higher levels are available, but requires far more energy than a
single
entity can produce.

Digital Gate
X - Upload - Location
Allows transit from Earth to the Digital World. Invoking different
DigiGods results in different choices of location.

Earth Gate
Juggernaught - Download - Location
Allows transit from Digital World to Earth. Can only be used with
Juggernaught and generally takes you to the place the caster left
Earth
from.

Restore
X - Download - User or Object
Heals user or repairs items, depending on the last DigiRune

Enhance Weapon
X - Upload - Object
Increases the damage output of a weapon. More Upgrade DigiRunes
results in a more powerful weapon.

Digital Attack
A powerful energy attack.
X - Delete - Entity

Force Field
X - Delete - Location
Creates a barrier around a small area that enemies cannot pass
through. Over or under is a different story. Number of Upgrade
DigiRunes used changes the size, shape, and duration of the field.

Shield
X - Download - User
Creates a protective barrier that covers the user. More Upgrade
DigiRunes means that it can take more damage before going away.

Invisibility
X - Encrypt - Y
Y can be Location, Object, User or Entity, and will make any of
them
invisible for a limited time.

Reveal Invisible
X - Decipher - Location
Everything in the area that is invisible becomes visible. Superior
invisibility spells require superior reveal spells.

Summon Entity
X - Download - Entity
The exact entity summoned depends on the God/Source DigiRune and
the
number of Upgrade DigiRunes used.
D-Reaper: Searcher (three runes), Pendulum Feet (five runes), Horn
Buster (seven runes), D-Reaper (nine runes)
Catalyst: In-training Digimon (3), Champion Digimon (5), Ultimate
Digimon (7), Calumon (9)
Antibody: Probe (3), Scab (5), Node (7) (I haven't decided what
these
look like yet), Antibody Prime (9)
Juggernaught: Juggernaught (9)
