Early 80's tour

My boss just told me that back in the early 80's he saw Iggy Pop in
Detroit and David Bowie was playing drums at this show. I asked if he
meant the late 70's tour when Bowie played keyboards with Iggy, and he
said no. Is my boss a complete raving maniac or am I missing something
here? I didn't want to tell him he was crazy because he is my boss.
