43 years old, saw Bowie in Berlin 1976 but cannot find the complete bootleg
of that show. I could not get tickets for the Heathen tour. I figure this
is his last, apart from Parkinson, Talk of the Town, and pubs/clubs (start
spreading the newsah!). The latter would be cool. He should do The Three
Tuns.

So in order to guarantee tickets, I joined BowieNet. I have to admit a
number of things:

1. It's not worth the money....most info is available via UseNet.
However, much info on the NGs and BowieWonderland News is cut & paste from
BowieNet (and Paul Kinder prevents cut & paste from his site).
2. The average BowieNetter makes me wanna puke (love you David, please
sing my name at Poughkeepsie, make love to me, do you like my new hairdo, I
love all your records (Brilliant Adventure is your best work...etc etc).
3. It's not my scene - well not anymore. When I was a teenager, he
influenced me. Now, in my 40s, I enjoy his music, enjoy the trading scene
as I have made a lot of friends but I cannot squeeze into my sequinned
catsuit anymore and my lipstick has gone all hard. My blonde spiky hairdo
has been replaced with a mousy brown No3 - thank you George Bush, Iraq was
nice but, no more please. Any more medals and I'll be walking in circles
and they don't pay the weekly shop!
4. Finally, it is difficult to navigate. It is designed for the
Broadband brigade and DialUp Networkers fall asleep waiting for pages to
load. Its Javascript is a pain for those of us with Firewalls. Yeah I can
make it work but then I get ICQ messages from Sexy Charlotte telling me she
loves me (or words to that effect).

So in summary, I don't need therapy (or King Dice). I just wanna see the
man one more time. And my wife the Motown Queen wants to come as well.

I wish to obtain live recordings of all Bowie's shows. Now he is no spring
chicken and the early 70s technology leaves a lot to be desired. I have
about 1100 recordings but of late my sources have dried up. I need to
network....so I have sold my soul to rock'n'roll.

I wish Sailor Boy would at least say thanks. My efforts are small but he
has made megabucks from us small people networking. I have never sold a
bootleg (and never will {yeah, I sold a spare copy of Liveandwell.com - but
he shouldn't have set me 2}) and many of my trading friends have bought his
studio stuff as a direct result from trading, as they liked his materiel.
If he is so au-fait with the internet and his music, he would know that it
is not BowieNet that solely aids him. This NG produces so much info and
furthers his music. Ultimately he makes a bob or two (sorry, a wee bawbee,
to buy some Couter's candy).

As an aside, Michael, did you do Echoes in an Empty Hall? Got any artwork.
If not, why not? ;-)

That is probably true.It's for kids mostly what i saw of it.But maybe it's

YES this is VERY true.Someone should really complain about it to Dave if he
has anything to say about the site that is.Maybe it's those silly webmasters
in charge.Anyway it's not surfer friendly territory out there in Bowienet.

It is said that Dave does some chats there but i couldn't read the
transcripts either.All it says is you can register and it cost money.

Conclusion:

I like Mike's blog and your website better than Bowienet.
