Jack that was most intriguing. When I read this, I felt as if I could
fall apart. The emotion you put in to this was simply amazing. I could
see every word vividly in my mind. The bond you had with Linda was the
more than love. It was life. And I know, she will always be in your
heart.

For her "memoirs" homework assignment I made my 11 year old daughter
read this 16 year old post. The above is her response (yes, she does
get a little (according to her a lot) emotional).

I've had to put down three dogs since then. I can't say that it gets
any easier, but you do get to the point where you feel that you are
doing them some good and sacrificing your selfish desire to keep them
part of the family.

We now have a 12 year old collie who is close to the end and a 3 year
old Eskie, who is a pain in the *ss, but very lovable. Curls up
nicely in the crook of your legs at night (as long as you pet him -
then it's anybpdy's ball game).

Still a dog person. Trying to eddicate my offspring in the right
manner.

cheers
j.
