LOST & FOUND
This is the Big One: Whitman Mayo - who played Fred Sanford's pal
Grady on "Sanford and Son" - has been located following a nationwide
search by "Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien." Mayo was found after an Atlanta
cable repairman tipped off Mayo's mother that "Late Night" was looking for
her son. Mayo lives in an Atlanta suburb, but he's in New York now and is
scheduled to appear on "Late Night" tomorrow. - Josef Adalian

Krunk! Lesley, are you *really* sure that this is true ???? I have always
heard that the NY Post is not a really good reliable paper. The only way I
can believe it is when the same story is in Tennessean's "Brad About You"
article. The writer (Brad Schmit) always gets the "Jucy" stuff from
reliable sources. But if you feel like you need to send this over to
him....just let me know.

I think it's pretty obvious that they've known where Grady is all along,
Amy. Do you think they just happened to find LaWanda Page (Aunt Esther) to
star in that parody of Unsolved Mysteries last night? :) And anything Joe
Adalian says about Conan is pretty reliable -- he was one of the original
Late Night supporters and the only critic I can remember who went out on a
limb to praise the show in the dark days of Winter '93/94.
I'm just bummed because I'm going to Friday's taping, just missing
Gradymania by a hair's-breadth.

LaWanda has been everywhere, Grace. She's been on "In Living Color", and
various talk shows (Jenny Jones, etc) and she even made an appearance in a
RuPaul video. But you don't hear about William Mayo at all......I am
sorry, but I don't think that this is an actual actor who played Grady on
Sanford and Son. He's probabily in his 70's and 80's right about now.

I don't know, Grace. From what I remember watching the Sanford show's,
William Mayo (Grady) looked like he was in this 50's or early 60's.
Fastforward time to today....I am assumeing his might be in his 70's or
early 80's (Yes...I am going out on a limb on this one). I don't think the
"Actual" Grady actor is going to be on there.....just some imposter. I
would be surprised if William Mayo walks to Conan without any help.
Now, don't get me wrong.......I love Conan and the show, but I have my
doubts on this sketch. I just don't think that this is the actual actor
who played Grady on Sanford and Son.

I'll trust "Cyber-Strangers" when they're not hiding behind a piece ov
technology, invisible, speaking half-truths, "flaming" each other, and
are in denial that they are TOTALLY dependant on thee Sun, Plants, Water,
Food, Clothing and Housing for survival!! I have more trust in a carrot.

I thought it was funny as shit, but when he cried it was just kind of pathetic
for a moment. It still ruled.
The reason is because the first ad showed in the "Actual Items" skit
last night was from the electronics store I work for! I saw it the
first time it was on, but had no idea that last nights show was the
same one!
please e-mail me or post ASAP!

I saw on a unrelated tv show that Grady has been dead for four years,
but his ghost supposedly haunts his old house.
