Second season, actually. The difference between SNL 1976 and SNL 2001
is like the difference between night and day...or maybe I should say the
difference between successful and unsuccessful attempts at humor,
although some of the humor in the 1976 episode is dated today (such as
Dan Aykroyd playing a DJ simultaneously on both an AM and an FM
station). But if you replace "swine flu" with "anthrax," many of those
jokes can be reused today.
