I saw "Kung Pow: Enter The Fist" yesterday. There was a lot of voice
dubbing (i.e., a lot of the film was an old kung fu-type movie with new
words dubbed over). One of the voices sounded a lot (to me) like the guy
that does Triumph, The Insult Comic. It didn't sound exactly like
Triumph, but it sounded close enough that I think it was the same person
(for me to poop on). Does anyone know if it was the same guy?

The movie was pretty good...very weird, but that's offbeat with me. My
favorite line was "If you have an ass, I'll kick it."

Ok, how is THAT movie offbeat. Frank Zappa's offbeat. Woody Allen's
offbeat. Conan's offbeat. Monty Python's offbeat. That was your
typical movie. Chances are that's probably the triumph guy because he
does alot of voice dubbing type things.

I believe Triumph is voiced by Robert Smigel. Try IMDB and see if he's
credited in the film.

not credited. anyway, my guess is that Smigel wouldn't touch this
piece of crap with a ten-foot pole.

Goddamnit! Learn thew "guys" name!
Robert Smeigel!  One of Conan's best friends, former producer at Late Night, creator of TV Funhouse (Ambiguously Gay Duo / x-presidents, etc.).  Not only did they work together on SNL, but they developed a Sitcom Pilot starring Adam West together.

His name IS *Robert Smigel* from the TV Guide I have <Feb 10-16, 2001>
and the IMDB database.
http://us.imdb.com/Name?Smigel,+Robert

There's even a pic of him.
http://us.imdb.com/PGallery?Smigel,+Robert&source=ss

Do a search on *Robert Smigel* and see what comes up. I think it's
safe to say that his name is *Robert Smigel*.

Explain why you think his name is *Robert Smeigel*? And I won't have
to pity you fool! <g>

Steve Oedekerk (the star of the movie- the "Chosen One") did all the
voices for the different characters. The only voice he didn't dub was
the one-boobed chick Whoa; that actress supplied her own voice.

Oedekerk also wrote, directed, and produced the movie. For all I know,
he did the craft services too.

Ahem

The man who does the voice for Triumph is Robert Smigle.
Know his name and love it.
He was the frist head writer for LN, and a long time friend of Conan.
They did a improve show (can anyone remember the name for me?) in Chicago
dering the writers strike in 89, where they created "In the year 2000".
He also does most of the voices for the Clutch Cargo bits ( the one with the
presatet and the lips thing).

*Gets off sope box*

Thank you.

Jessy~

It's Smigel, actually.

Chicago Theatre for $400, Alex.
I don't know -- Second City? Steppenwolf?

It's interesting to read that 'In the Year 2000' predates the
start of 'LNwCOB'. Was it also during that same show
where the later to be famous on 'SNL' "Penis sketch" was
first preformed? I do know it was preformed somewhere
before Conan brought it to SNL and that in the earlier
performances, Conan was one of the naked guys.

In the "Acknowledgements" in the front of the itY2K book, it reads:

Robert Smigel came up with the idea of making ominous predictions for
the year 2000 way back in 1988, and he and I preformed the bit that
summer in our comedy revue "Happy Happy Good Show."

Naturally, Damone's page has a section that covers that as well.

I know I saw The Naked Guys sketch and thought what's wrong with those
freaks. LOL. I think I saw a site that showed pics of Conan's
appearances on SNL but I can't find that link. Does anybody have the
link, Please?

On a side note, I was wondering why I've never seen a pasty red-headed
man with ripped muscles. It seems that all body builders have a dark
complexion. I think the darker skin makes the muscles look better
defined and I know some body builders suntan or put on tanning lotions
but still there should've been some that are naturally pasty
red-heads. Somewhere there has to be big muscular pasty red-headed
men.
