I am close to marketing my collection of quotations. Many of them
come from folks in this group. I have contacted most of you, but I
know I've missed some folks. Here's the deal, I will attribute your
words any way you like (within reason). I can't give you any
renumeration.

If you are on the list below and would like to see what of yours I am
quoting, e-mail me and I'll respond. If you don't wish to be quoted
or you want money, let me know and I'll remove your material.

If I don't hear from you, I'll assume that all is well. Note that
you have to remove .muth from the e-mail address on this message to
send e-mail to me.

But, I do mind. I thought I had something of yours in there. I still
have a few pages of material to work into my text as I trim down blocks

It turns out I had something of yours I had considered. I still like

By the way, I grabbed a couple of quotes by searching for things you

She is an author and probably not rich. You might want to think

Neither. Lots of folks whose writing I very much like are not in the
book. Not being included just means that I didn't encounter anything
which struck the right chord for inclusion. Quite frankly, what I
wound up putting into the manuscript ranges from profound to *very* off
the wall.

When I encountered something I liked, I saved it to a file. Then I
waited two weeks and reviewed the file. If I still liked it, I
incorporated it into the manuscript. I've been doing this thing so
long, I've read some of the material dozens of times - and I have
deleted stuff which orginally made it into the book. Sometimes, I may
have not included things because I just wasn't in the right frame of
mind when I read it. Selectin ws capricious and really followed no
rules - except I avoided almost all religious material and I ommitted
language I wouldn't want my daughter to use.

I have enjoyed reading your posts both here and in AFU. I rally can't
tell anyone why their stuff didn't make it since, as I said, there was
no method to my madness.

You know, it's a bit interesting. Most of the people who expressed
surprise that they were on the list had already given me permission.
Mind you, it's been more than four years for you (2/15/2002), so I can
easily understand having forgotten.

Yep, I've been compiling this thing for a long time (actually more than
10 years). I have, at the moment, 286 pages. I've discarded more
material than I kept and I'll be trimming even more out. The blue
pencil has probably accounted for some 300+ pages of material.

DHS has that list now.

Actually, I'm finding that there are quite a few names in that list
and I will post it here as soon as I finish working through the
additional names. I was a bit surprised that I even had some stuff
from George in there.

I sent you an Email but I think I may inadvertently have deleted your reply
without reading. Could you send me a copy?
Thanks

I didn't receive an e-mail from you. Did you drop the ".muth" from my
listed e-mail address?

I've tried a couple more times from different accounts so they don't seem to
be getting through. I'm addressing to em eye kay ee at germanword dot org so
they should get through, no? But I hear more and more of ISPs banning
certain other ISPs because they generate too much spam so maybe that's it.
Anyway - sorry to be a pain. I only had two questions viz:

So can you fill me in on what form the marketing is taking and what it is of
mine you plan to use?

If you could Email me (just remove 'frag' from my address) with the reply
I'd appreciate it.

One did get through and I just answered it.

Yes it should. You are the only person I know of who has experienced
this kind of problems.

Nope. My address is just a mail forwarder. I don't believe there is
a problem with Misk.com's mail server being hijacked and there is no
unverbesserlich.org mail server.

I have answered those questions in my e-mail.

Excellent. Thanks. I've replied to your reply. The one that got through was
from my MSN account which is obviously OK. The two that failed were from an
account called "Freeserve" and the address includes fsnet.co.uk
However, the ISP has been bought and sold several times and is currently
with Orange after being with Wanadoo. Obviously, your ISP doesn't like them.

I have been told that afu now prefers a M107 Long-Range Sniper
Rifle when reaching out to touch someone.

I like the black helicopters but I am just an old fashioned kind
of guy.

No.

This reminds me of this:

http://207.70.82.73/pages/descriptions/97/75.html

"Prologue. Brett Leveridge was standing on the subway. A guy comes
walking down the platform, stopping in front of each passenger and
delivering a quiet verdict: "You're in. You're out. You, you can stay.
You--gotta go." Most people ignored the guy. But Brett found himself,
against his will, hoping the guy would give him the thumbs up, and when
the guy does, it's thrilling in a very small way: a tiny kindness from
a stranger."

Well, it wasn't a thumbs down on you. Just not a thumbs up, yet.

Wait a minute. It seems to me that modern usage has reversed that
thumbs up/down thing. Didn't thumb down mean to let the defeated
gladiator live?

Possibly. Cecil goes on at some length here:
