Are you only in the local[1] section? 'Coz when the new neighbors (who
apologized for making noise, incidentally) moved in, someone started a
NYTimes subscription and they have denied it is theirs. So unless
someone started a subscription for me without telling me (unlikely) I
am getting an inexplicable subscription and will be able to search for
your photo, yours, in tomorrow's paper.

[1] Since the Times carries no comics, I assume you won't be in Mark
Trail as the featured animal. What are you going to do with all your
new-found celebrity?

Can we rule out the possibility that the picture shows an Easter egg
hunt, or has any other connection with Easter?
Does the picture have anything to do with Passover?
Does the picture show fans of Kurt Cobain commemorating the
anniversary of his suicide?

I don't want you to feel bad, so the truth is that I didn't start a NY
Times subscription for Veronique. The NY Times sometimes leaves free
newspapers at doorsteps for several weeks; then they will call to see
if you want to continue receiving the paper with a subscription.

Shame somebody's already taken the name Pixel...
My scanner is an HP, as is the new computer. I have a page feed
scanner on the network, so I often do not have the flatbed hooked up.
I will not bother with the drivers, then, until I need the flatbed for
something more weighty than my own ego & the NY Times.

Have never heard of either Sonic Wall or VPN!

VPN is probably virtual private network. Don't know from SonicWall, but
it sounds like it might be a firewall or similar.

Vista (cough) doesn't have a _legacy_ type mode like XP is supposed to?
Wait a minute, that's just for s/w, not drivers.
>Boron Elgar wrote, in <s9li13lpcpaa1n82l...@4ax.com>
SonicWall (I think they spell it SonicWALL) makes firewall and
Internet security products. We have a very small office, so ours is
quite simple. I don't know how sophisticated their other products are.
VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows me to have remote access to the
server at work. The other folks use PC Anywhere, which I find clumsy
and slow.
So, until our particular product has updates from SW to work with
Vista, I have to use my XP laptop at home when I need something from
my server.
Boron
From what I recall reading on a non-verifiable source, MS's research
showed that people update their hardware on, average, every 3 years,
so they put in drivers for products made from 2003 onwards.
