Sadly, no. The verse exists in magnificent isolation. It is in fact the
only verse in Matthew 22 (which makes the numbering odd) and has no
other references or context. I would ask you to check but as you know,
there is only one copy of the Bible and it has not yet been translated
from Aramaic. Googling for it would be useless as Madelyn Anne Murray
O'Hare and Obama are suing Google to prevent the Bible from being on
the Internet because they are Muslin. I read this in the Rush Report.

the city a few years ago complaining about the noise they make and it
disturbing the neighborhood, asking if it doesn't it fall under a noise
ordinance (or some law). A county attorney wrote back and said there wasn't
really anything they could do, the "music" is considered a signal device.

I still don't understand this. Why is some stranger allowed to go daily
through neighborhoods blaring very annoying crappy music that attracts kids
running out into the street to buy unhealthy overpriced products, from some
whacked stranger. I don't go crawling down the street in a car "signaling"
by honking my horn or blaring crappy music.

I really really hate being forced to listen to crappy music. It the same
music over and over on about a 15 second loop. And it plays so loud you can
hear when the truck is three blocks away.

I wonder why they use music to signal that the ice cream truck is
here? Back in the day the Good Humor trucks and the Bungalow Bar
trucks roaming the neighborhoods (day and night) in New York City just
jingled a string of bells, and we all came running.

You don't have the ones that play loud annoying muzak? There was one that
would come around in my old neighborhood that played "pop goes the weasel"
over and over. And would circle the block three times. I hope there is a
karma for such people.

I can handle the bells, I think they did that in my hometown now that you
mentioned it. And they weren't too loud or rang incessantly. They were
okay. Kinda like wind chimes... Speaking of bells, I also wrote to my
council person a few years ago about church bells. And said they should
not be allowed to ring them so you hear them half mile away. (He replied
that he thought they were beautiful.) Where I used to live I was half mile
from a church and they would wake me up-- at 6 am! And then I would hear
them on the hour every hour all day Sunday. Fucking Catholics. Why do they
have the right to wake me up at 6am on a Sunday morning? Whatever happened
to the Law of the Commons?

I really enjoy the nights here where there are no sounds, but crickets and
an occasional bird. There are quite a few days/nights the UPS planes fly
right over when the wind blows a certain way sometimes they sound like they
are going to land in my driveway. They are worst at night when the big
cargo planes take off and land. I never thought to have on my checklist
when looking at house to see what the neighborhood and noise level was at
night.

But when it's just crickets here in the evening, it's sublime.

the house? Effen airlines! There is a vector almost directly over
our house that us used by planes flying from the Pacific area to the
east coast, and another vector that is used by planes flying the great
circle route over the polar region to places unknown. But they are at
altitudes where the noise of the planes cannot be heard; all you see
is the contrail. If I turn my telescope on them (80mm short tube
refractor) I can just barely see the planes. Birds are okay, but
crickets can be an irritating sound. Give me silence every time.

Not too many chimes around here, so I only occasionally hear them from a
distance. It's nice. We hear the church bells. Loudly. It's only a block
and a half away. I love that, too. I've never lived anywhere that I can't
hear the church bells.

My first apartment was two blocks away from an airport. Most planes
would turn away from me after takeoff but occasionally a 737 would fly
right over my apartment at a low altitude.

Two blocks? I used to live a mile and a half from a major airport,
along the main runway's approach. There was a single plane that would
come in at 3:30 every morning - my wife said it was UPS. It would
wake her, but not me.

When we bought a place, we got one that was only a mile from the
airport, but all three runways point away from us, so we seldom get
any noise. The new runway is going in just over a half mile away, but
again its flight paths point at right angles to our place. I don't
know what this will do to sound.

Anyone who buys or rents two blocks from an existing airport knows
what they are getting. They're probably getting a really good price
in exchange.

I like the bigass wind chimes. Not the little aluminum ones that are kinda
tinny sounding... I was at place in Carson City once, and they had these
huge ones. Like five feet long and 3 or 4 inches diameter. The ex got
embarrassed because I kept bumping into them to hear them.... Had great
bass sound. Made me wish I was Buddhist.

The airport here is pretty much in the middle of the city now. The city
grew around it. And they expanded the runways so UPS could fly bigger
planes a few years back, so it's not going anywhere. (I wish I could.) I
would probably feel better if I had a job at UPS, or they at it least shared
some of their profits with the people they keep awake at night.
