US decides to arm Syrian rebels.

Note, Syrian government is entirely assholisitc.

Note also, Syrian Rebels are ALSO entirely assholisitic.

Note 3, the US has no business interfering with Syria's internal
affairs, they aren't bothering us.

Note 4, getting involved in other people's internal squabbles is a
very bad idea.

Note 5, what happens if/when the Syrian government wins? The US is
already *so* popular with the Arabs...

This is a fucking ridiculously stupid move on Obama's part.

There's an old adage that predates the digital age:

"Even a broken clock is right twice a day."

Shit getting serious:

Egypt cuts diplomatic ties with Syria

President Mohamed Morsi announces closure of embassies in Damascus
and Cairo, and calls for imposition of no-fly zone.
....
Morsi also called on Lebanon's Hezbollah armed group to leave Syria,
where the group has been fighting alongside troops loyal to embattled i
President Bashar al-Assad against the rebel forces.

"We stand against Hezbollah in its aggression against the Syrian people,"
Morsi said. "Hezbollah must leave Syria - these are serious words. There
is no space or place for Hezbollah in Syria."

A very similar decision led to providing arms that were later used by
the Taliban against US troops. The US is trying to turn Syria into a
spare Afghanistan. This is a good idea?

It makes no sense at all. There is an old joke that a broken clock is right
twice a day, but that is because an operating clock goes through a cycle.
Since neither Obama or Syria have a cycle the response is pointless.

I think in this case the broken clock was Shawn.

Oh, Shawn. Stop making me agree with you.

Well, in fairness to Obama, he had to. Bill Clinton said "neener
neener, ur doin it rong", so he had to respond.
