I tried a search for ipod nano, and it gave me zero results (plus four
sponsored non-auction sites for "touch" models.) So I tried it just
for ipod. There should be several THOUSAND auctions for ipod at any
given time. Zero results again.

I got zero results for a search just now, while Googling indicates there
should be many eBay hits.

I got, "We were unable to run the search you entered. Please try again
in a few minutes."
So I guess it is broken to some extent.

It looks like you can make it work if you use the Advanced Search and check
the "title and description" box.
