Has anyone else here tried it yet?

I would find it difficult to recommend it. The extras are too little,
even for the small price. Suppress quoted text is nice, and nicely
implemented. The speed up from reading compressed headers is probably
some use to people pulling hundreds-of-parts binaries but doesn't make
any difference to me.
The good news is that this release uses exactly the same file formats as
the last one so you can make use of the 30-day free trial and revert to
5.0 if you don't think it worth it. You can be quite confident of this
as I have just tried 5.0 on a copy of this 6.0's database and it is
fine.

Thanks, Nick, that pretty much answers my question. So far I'm
inclined to agree with those posters in the other group who are saying
it shouldn't have been a chargeable upgrade for the enhancements it
introduces.

How about an upgrade from 4.0?

I'm still using 3.3 and waiting for a good reason to upgrade from it.
And I didn't think it was much of an improvement over 2.0 or whatever
I had before. Can someone convince me?

I finally got tired of NS 4.x inability to handle multi-part
binaries, so I tracked down 3.3/32.846 in Free Agent mode. I
still use NS for text, though, since I can sort messages by
column heading; not avail in Free.

How much are they charging foe the 30 day daytrial?
What's that got to do with anything? I'm considering paying for the
product anyway, if it's worth it, so it's not an issue of the cost of
a trial.
Why don't you go back and read Nick's answer? Concentrate real hard
on the second paragraph especially, and you'd know why I said "that
answers my question". I can't do that for you, any more than I can
fix your typing.

My point is that trying it for yourself should reveal more about how
YOU like it, unless you are no longer capable of original thought.
I posted my reply without having read Nick's reply, so I had no idea
that he had saved you the trouble of determining how well it would
fill your needs.
If you don't care for my typing or my replies, I'm pretty sure the "n"
key, the space bar,or CTRL-K will take care of it for you.
The laser surgery to improve my eyesight is scheduled for Dec 4 - so
perhaps I can meet your high standards after that.
