I don't hear much about that place anymore, is it worth seeing now?

The country?

People seem to swoon over the cherry blossom trees when in season.

And some have a yen for the fast trains.

We have just had cherry blossom in the UK. A right mess afterwards.

Same in Washington DC, USA. My sister had he wedding down there on the
first weekend in April, when the trees had started blooming. Japan
donated thousands of cherry blossom trees to the US decades and decades
ago, some time after WWII, IIRC. Japan still replaces the trees as they
die.

The cherry blossom trees in DC were given to the US by Japan in 1912
as a gift of friendship. In 1965 the Japanese government gave an
additional gift to the US of more trees. Additional plantings of some
of the trees in later years were made from cuttings taken from the
original 1912 trees.

See it now before they go completely toe-to-toe with the Russkies over the Kuril Islands.

No, really. They're getting blustery with each other and (bonus points) there's still a declared war between the two.
