Season Seven Suggestions

I just posted this on the CTV CI message boards. This isn't the entire
list, by any means.

1. Take the time back to what it was in Season Two: 8 Eastern (to
Manitoba and all points east) and 8 Pacific (to BC, Alberta and
Saskatchewan).

2. Top 10 = Canadian Hits. Always. Only acceptable exception: when
the artist they have in mind is *only* available that week. I could
live with David Bowie at Top 10 level this year . . . until I realized
he wasn't even going to be there. I wasn't happy after that.

3. Keep Unplugged Week.

4. Bring back Standards Week. The only reason we had it in 2007 was
because the original guest cancelled, and TPTB decided Standards would
be its replacement. They got so lucky to get Paul Anka. :)

5. The way Amberly's exit was handled was the low point in the five
seasons I've been watching. They've got to return to the traditional
'seated is safe, bottom comes to center stage' format. Just because we
can imitate the Yanks' results shows doesn't mean we should.

Any others as I think of them. Do you have any thoughts?

Also, a wildcard song choice night would be interesting if they could substitute

Get rid of Jully Black. She added NOTHING to the show but viewers
with grated down teeth.
Get rid of a second person, period.

I agree about Jully, but at least she didn't lip-synch at the finale like Mariah
Carey.

I'm OK with the extra colour bits, but they don't have to keep using the same
person. There are plenty of past contestants, celebrities, politicians,
students etc that could do an interesting segment.
