Did Brad Pitt have contacts, to help him get that odd appearance with his
eyes in the movie 12 Monkeys?
Thanks!
MIke
Yes, Brad was required to wear contacts for this role . . . . actually, I did
hear that he asked to wear contacts :) Anyone??? Care to confirm or deny?

yes--Mikal remembers correctly. i read an interview with the director terry
gilliam. he said thet brad suggested the brown colored lenses (to make us
forget his baby-blues), and came up with the off-center lense that made his
eyes look all googelly. he also cut his own hair with a scissors, to give
himself a scruffy, uneven look. what a guy!!

I know what you mean, Mikal. He did ask for contacts to tone down the sex
appeal but for some strange reason, i STILL found him really irresistible in
those mental hospital pajamas and later on in that cute little black hat
*grin* The long yellow hair was an overkill though, no LOTF look there, that's
for sure LOL But i loved Jeffrey overall, he was just so hilarious! The only
character Brad ever did that i'm totally repulsed by is Early Grace (and he
didn't even have contacts!) Brad did do the cross eyed thing with his eyes on
his own though which probably took a lot of skill, although at one point in a
closeup, i noticed that one of his contacts was specifically made not only to
make his eye brown but to make the pupil appear smaller than the other, maybe
that also accounted for the weird eyes look.

Oh, man, i've got soooo many favorite lines in that movie, don't even get me
started! :) "You dumb assholes, i'm a mental patient, i'm supposed to
act out!", that's the best one! And the " probbbbabbbility matrix", that was
hilarious *giggles* Another good one: " I was poked at, examined,
x-rayed...THOROUGLY!" (that's when he grabs his crotch LOL) And " F*** the
Bozos" LOL And who can forget: "Get outta my chair!!!" hehe Whew, you see
what you started, Mikal? I absolutely loved Brad's performance there, he
should've gotten that Oscar!

Ah, Mystie me darlin', we have a LOT in common. :) After reading your post, I
think I have to watch the movie again! woo hoo!
LOL, i love having a lot in common with you, Mikal, no matter what it is you
always make it sound like a good thing *grin* Now go watch 12 Monkeys so we can
gush about Brad's hilarious lines in it :)

I seem to remember vaguley while the film 12Monkeys was still in
shooting early 1995 that rumours occured about Brad Pitt and Terry
Gilliam had a falling out of some sort. Is this true? And what was the
reason? What does the "Hamster Factor" film say about this?
People who have seen the hamster factor film also talk about some
falling out between Gilliam and Bruce. Is this also true? How come then
that Gilliam has defended Bruce's performace in interviews several years
later?

In 'Hamster Factor' there is nearly no material about Brad Pitt. You
just can see him for a few minutes. No fall outs.
But Gilliam can be seen in discussions with Bruce Willis. Bruce has not
always the same opinion than Terry -they can be seen in heavy discussion
. But that is not bad - conflicts of this kind should happen on a set,
and what I had read about Gilliam is, that he is quite happy, if the
crew has it's own vision.
Bruce is a very strong character - he knows, what he is doing. Terry
also knows exactly, what he is doing, so both of them had to meet
somewhere.
In the end - Bruce has done some of his best performances - if not his
best one - and Terry has made a very fine movie.
