Not sure why some people have a problem with Ryan Gosling. He did a superb job on the "Green Lantern" (any who was into the comics would agree). Now if Harrison Ford is back as an older Rick Deckard then there is no way he will be able to physically fight replicants (hey, we're all getting older) so perhaps Gosling will play the role of Deckard's protégé

I have no problem with the actor. I have some qualms about making a
sequel to my favorite movie of all time, as sequels almost always fail
to live up to the first one.

[...snip...]

At age 62 I almost feel embarrassed to say: but don't you want to know what happens to Oa now that Sinestro has forged the yellow ring of fear?

Anyway, I fear that making a sequel to "Blade Runner" will be much more difficult. "Blade Runner" is a lot like "2001: A Space Odyssey" in that both stand on their own as cinematic art. Don't get me wrong, I liked "2010: The Year We Make Contact" a lot more than 2001 but I am in the minority (even though I read all for books: 2001, 2010, 2061, 3001).

The invisible character in "Blade Runner" is the music by Vangelis, and I suspect the artist will be unwilling or unable to repeat his performance for the sequel. Some people will watch the sequel, not hear Vangelis, then will proclaim the sequel not as good but they will be unable to articulate the reason why.

That's a very good point. That music is phenomenal, and _Themes_
remains one of my most listened-to albums.

That wasn't Ryan Gosling in Green Lantern. That was Ryan Reynolds.
