Priss gets a lesbian kiss in new Adam Warren comic!

Hey fans, this is gonna shake some of y'all up... Adam Warren, noted for creating the extremely divisive Grand Mal comic, has given us a Priss cameo/shoutout in a recent issue of Empowered.

And what a cameo!

Doesn't exactly settle the time honoured debate, but it sure is nice to see Priss get an actual gay kiss for the 30th anniversary of BGC!

When I was getting into Bubblegum Crisis back in the late 90s, I was just entering High School, I came across a BGC fan website, during my early forays on the internet, there was a section in Priss' character bio about her sexuality where it said "there have been flame wars about Priss being a lesbian or bisexual," I think Sonoda wanted to leave that up to the interpretation of the viewer rather than be explicit about.

I think the same can be said about Rally Vincent sexuality if she was a lesbian or not. The only evidence that I can find that is at least solid is when Misty May COMES ON to Rally and kisses her, with full string-of-saliva-leaving-mouth effect going on. My interpretation to that would that that Misty made the first move, not Rally, so to me that's up for debate.

Warren just does professional fan comics off Sonoda characters, so its just glorified fan art in my book. I still believe in the universe where her and Leon get together, which could happen perhaps?

On Rally Vincent I think that she really is mostly asexual in regards to gender. We do see her get aroused by firearms which May comments on once and I think you can see in her characterization just how much of herself she puts into guns and cars. I think she could find herself with a man or a woman but whomever it is would need to be into what she likes just as much or she couldn't be into them. May is an interesting choice as I think that something could develop there if Ken were open enough to the idea. I know May is, and Rally well... she probably wouldn't take too much convincing.

Priss is more complicated but I don't know that I have anything to add to the flame wars of the 80's and 90's about her sexuality other than I land on the side of bisexual with a preference towards women after earlier disappointing relationships with men.

Well, she did have a boyfriend that died in the music video Asu E Touchdown, or I think based on the drama audios ive read about it was a boyfriend. With Priss, shes got trust issues, and does begin to favor Leon later on, but that isn't really fleshed out in the OVA, which that can be chalked up to the writing department and other behind the scenes stuff. I think if BGC was told the way it was, then maybe Leon and Priss might be a couple, or it might have not worked out, just depends.
