Follow me here: Suppose Sho isn't just Priss's friend, Sho is Priss'
Nephew?
Now, It is never stated anywhere that Priss is an only child, (AFAIK).
Nor, does it seem that its actually stated that Priss was at an
orphanage. We know she ran with a biker gang, and lost her b/f, after
which Sylia recruted her.
Now the theory I have (And is still forming) is that Sho's Mom was
Priss' older sister, and she raised Priss. Priss went wild, and the
two parted ways until Sylia recruited Priss. Now evidence:
*Priss seems very comfortable with Sho, more than she is with anyone
else. Sho's mother (No name given) seems very comfortable with Priss
and Sho being around each other. A trust because Sho's Mom knows Priss
very well. Like a older sister would know a younger sister, perhaps?
*Sho's mom does look a little like Priss. That could be just the
character design, but it could be something more.....
*Priss'white-hot anger when Sho's mom dies. Would you go kamakazee
against GENOM tower for a causal friend? Maybe for a close friend, or
a relative......
Thoughts?

Talking to Amanda via IM and she does say that Priss was in an
orphanage after the quake, but the rest of the theory is holding -- so
far....
Craig
From the same orphanage perhaps then? A member of Priss' old gang who
left when she had a son? There are other possibilities, and are
equally valid. Ish.

Mind you, Sho would've been already three when the quake occurred
(since he celebrates his tenth birthday in Blow Up). A "love child"
of Priss', he ain't ^_~
Amanda
I meant Sho's mother.... but either or.... She's a 'good
acquaintance', why don't we leave it at that and let the fanficcers
munch on that little plotbunny.
-Dartz
I'll admit the is-Sho-Priss'-nephew line of thought isn't something
I've seen tackled in fanfiction before. Could be interesting if
someone ran with it.

Care to back up your reasoning? I can think of reasons why they're
not, but what are yours?
Amanda
The scene itself. If she's Sho's close relative, why does she ask his
mother about his age? And why does his mother tell her her story? Why
isn't Priss living with them but in trailer? She knows Sho and his
mother because they both live in District Twelve. Her trailer's right
next to their building. She's fond of children, so she befriended
him.
Alemann
Thank you. It's one thing to state that something can't be true, but
people are gonna want you to back that up. Those were my thoughts
too.
