So I was chatting with dustin via AIM with others, and the idea was
floated for a BGC RPG between group members, using the old RTG
sourcebooks. Now, right now it's just an idea we're considering.
Ideally, it'd be run in an IRC channel, since AIM can drop out
and I have an IRC bot that'll do dice stuff, and I might be able
to hack it to run statistics/log the game.
Now then, we still need idea's such as settings and the like but,
I have one or two in mind.
We could either play an ADP squad in Megatoko. This one has the
advantages of being short and quick if necessary
Or
We could play as "Knight Sabers" in some non-Megatoko city, using
the Crossfire setting.
There's other stuff needed, like someone to be GM, someone to write
a plot, and a few people to play.
And no... you can't *all* be boomer characters :P
So what do people think? Yes, no, plot ideas?

Ill be serious, i would really love to do something like this. I
personally think for people like me who dont do RPG like this, we
could start out a small campaign for a couple of hours to get our feet
wet (well for me that is).Simple and to get familer with the game.
Then the more we play we can go on bigger campaigns. I mean what dartz
said is a good way to start out, and ADP story we can shoot boomers
up, do some detective work, and get paid. A KS story would be the same
thing so neither one would take alot of time to play.
If you want to you can shoot me or dartz an email because right now we
need some people who are interested, and once thats happend we can
work on a story and figure out a time to all play at the same time.
> snip to keep length down....
The only problem I personally have with using ADP for a campaign
is that we don't get any of the cool shiny gear like hardsuits
and such-and-such.
I actually lashed together a profile for my fic character a while
back, out of sheer boredom for s&g.
I'd actually love to write a campaign in America.... and do my
damnedest to make it a hell of a satire of the corporatocracy
folding in elements from Snow Crash and the like...while
keeping the Crisis flavour. Maybe a private police force with
people taking out crime insurance and the like. Poor neighborhoods
have higher crime rates have higher premiums have lower levels of
insured. No insurance == high police bills for investigating crimes
Actually.... I really like that little plot bunny.... maybe that's
how the group could meet. Dropping crime rates, in order to actually
afford insurance....
That could be fun.
Not quite crisis mind, but we can make that up with the characters'
backstory's, and maybe have a data cassette come into the groups'
possession.

You know, come to think of it, i wrote a script like 4 years ago
regarding a ADP side story when i lived in Raleigh NC. I dont think i
have that file anywhere (but i can try and find it) but it was basicly
how kids still play world of warcraft and a guy who saved the game
like 30 some years back made a boomer to kill people offspring who
were related to the people who had this guy banned.
Yea, i was into WoW at that time, go fig.

Hmmm.... some of that might work. you reminded me of that advanced wars
thing from a while back.
I'll run it if people want.... though it'll be my first time ever running
a game as GM. I have a basic plot that can be made to work with both ADP
and
'group as Knight Sabers' concepts
Need's more than one player though... 3 at absolute minimum.
