Every Barry fan wants Barry to have the Kennedy Center honors and I do too. Lots of fans tried in the past to get Barry in, but ended up disappinted. I think it is very hard to predict what the Kennedy Center honors induction committee is looking for. I thought Barry's long career would give him an edge- but there have been younger artists like Bruce Springsteen that have been inducted before Barry, so it is hard to know and predict who they will induct. Maybe the good news is that most of the legends have already been inducted, and the committee does not induct artists who passed away, so maybe this will be a favorable year for Barry. I don't think Cher has been inducted yet, nor has Bette Midler, but can't think of anyone other music star that has not been inducted yet. Let's all hope that Barry gets the prosper respect from the KCH induction committee this year. Marvin

My recommendation is in! Here is what I wrote:

"He's the Showman of our Generation! Just ask Rolling Stone Magazine! He is a master at Composing, Producing, Arranging, Directing, Singing and Performing a wide variety of musical styles! From Pop to Standards to Swing to Jazz to Broadway, and most recently, Rock...he does it all! Turning 70 next month and still going strong with concerts, personal appearances, his new musical Harmony, and Philanthropic work with his Manilow Music Project - is there a busier, more prolific person out there? Barry Manilow is long-overdue to be recognized for his contributions in the Performing Arts arena. Please consider him for your next KCH event."

I'm sure Roxane has already sent in the packet she did last
year. The first time Roxanne did this she was able to get
a letter from Elizabeth Taylor before she passed away. Barry
found out about Elizabeth's letter and he was very moved. I
also found out you have to resubmit the person every year
until they're honored. So we shall see what happens.
