==================================

Kief, Alice M.

Alice M. Kief, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully
and with dignity Thursday, September 9, 1999, at the age of 83, in Los
Angeles, California.

Alice was born April 23, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, where she was
raised. She was married to Robert J. Kief in 1939, and later moved with
her young family to Houston in 1948, then Indianpolis, and finally to
Covina, California in 1956. With her husband, Bob, she raised her two
sons, Rob and Garry, and became an active volunteer for the First
Presbyterian Church of Covina, the Presbyterian Synod of Southern
California, the Boy Scouts of America, the PTA, and the USC Parents
Association.

In 1979, she started her second career as Executive Director of Stargow,
Ltd., a family enterprise created to oversee fan clubs for several major
stars. Under the pen name of Kate Naughton, Alice expanded the club to
an international membership of 60,000, many of whom were frequent
recipients of her personal letters of encouragement and were adopted by
Alice as part of her extended family.

In addition to her many friends around the world, Alice leaves her
husband of 60 years, her sons, and her grandchildren, Kristen,
Christopher and Adam Kief.

All those who were close to Alice loved her dearly and will always
remember her as an inspiration to her family and friends, for her strong
devotion to her family, her style and expertise as a homemaker, her
letters of compassion and inspiration, her unconditional love, and the
heart she put into everything she did.

Alice's life will be celebrated at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 15,
1999, at The Chapel in Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, California.

wow - seems I'm out of touch. I knew she was ill, but I didn't know she
passed on!

She will be missed!

I for one will say a prayer.

In loving memory...

She didn't. Her name was Alice Kief. Kate Naughton was a "pen name" or
"alias" that she used for BMIFC purposes. This secret was as poorly kept
as Barry's real age is. :)

You mean he's REALLY not 53? Oh my God, is nothing sacred anymore? ROFL!
