TERI REID & GIRLTALK
TERI REID is a third generation member of the world famous Southern Gospel
singing group The Speer Family. She began playing piano at a very young
age and progressed through years of professional entertainment in both
solo and group environments, including a one year tour with country legend
Ronnie Milsap. Reid can be seen performing in a variety of restaurants and
nightclubs in Nashville. She has an impressive weekly schedule which
includes not only evening performances but also performances during the
day with Family and Children Service, a non- profit organization that
performs for the Metro school system. She also can be seen as an
accompanist for Studio 505, a private vocal studio directed by Mark Perry.
DANA ROBBINS (saxophones and background vocals) has been in Nashville only
10 years and five of those years she’s been with Teri Reid & Girltalk.
Growing up outside Detroit, Dana grew to love R&B and the Motown sound.
She studied music at the University of Michigan and later studied in
Boston at Berklee College of Music with jazz great Joe Lavano. Dana took
her ambitions to Los Angeles. In addition to performing with a number of
wonderful musicians such as Tower of Power, Roger Daltrey, John Mayall and
Bobby Womack, she enjoyed touring and recording with Barry Manilow for six
years. Nashville’s thriving music scene has afforded Dana the opportunity
to meet and work with many great players from the musical worlds of blues,
gospel, Christian, R&B and jazz. These include Al Green, CeCe Winans,
Rufus Thomas, James Brown, Jewel, and Stacy Mitchhart to name a few.
Robbins represents Yamaha saxophones.
JEN HOEFT, on percussion and drums, is the back bone and the driving force
behind Girltalk. Her personality and enthusiasm are as much a part of her
performance as her creative drum styles and solos. Hoeft earned her
Bachelor’s and Masters degree in music education from James Madison
University which led to performing three seasons with the Tuscon Symphony.
Since moving to Nashville she has played with a variety of bands, which
include touring nationally with Earl Gaines and RCA recording artists, The
Warren Brothers. Still involved with music education, Hoeft works with
“Beatswork,” a company that provides team building drum circles for
corporations. Also devoted to health and fitness, she encorporates music
and fitness as a writer for Modern Drummer. Hoeft also just completed her
book "The Playground Workout for Grown-ups." (Read Publishing.)
Reid states: “We’ve been performing together now for five years and we
amaze listeners every time we play. I’m very proud of this band. The trio
has excellent musicianship, powerhouse vocals and the fact that we are
three good looking women doesn’t hurt.” She adds.” We’ve been performing
every Tuesday night at F Scotts for the past five years. F Scotts is one
of the few restaurants in Nashville that supports live jazz seven nights a
week. We are very thankful to play there regularly.”

Yes, Paula, she did marry Billy Kidd, and they are still married, as far as
I know.
