What makes the abrupt appearance of a name never before encountered in the
literature by or about King authoritative? Is the long time King reader
expected to defer his own understanding of a favorite writer to strangers,
this far along?
Douglas Winter documents his sources in The Art of Darkness. As does Anthony
Magistrale and others.
So it's sloppy scholarship at the very least, little more then internet
dilettantism.
Even when it's printed.
