What is the current status of the Myth Series?
Will there ever be any more Myth books?
What other books has Robert Asprin been involved with?
Where can I find some of his other books?
What authors contributed to Thieves World?
What are some other books and authors that RLA fans recommend?
Where can I find fanfic?
Of course, I don't even know the answers to some of these questions, so I'll
have to rely on the group for answers and more questions

Actually Steven Marc Harris AKA kay...@aol.com wrote a pretty good FAQ
for the group and posted it about this time last year. (The address he
used for the FAQ was MythA...@aol.com, but mail sent to that address
appears now to get no replies.)
You can read it by going to www.deja.com and searching for 'FAQ' and
'alt.fan.asprin.'
If you want to save yourself a lot of time and trouble, you might try
and get Mr. Harris' permission to just update what he wrote. He was
still on-line as of November '99.

Huh? What? Where?
Oh yes, I'm still alive. Due to an overwhelming personal life, however, I'm
completely at the mercy of forces beyond that of the internet. (Not entirely
accurate, but describing things as xtremes always sounds more impressive.)
If someone wants to highjack the FAQ and turn it into something more updated
and useful, they have my permission. The reason behind the creation of the FAQ
was the small amount of on-topic postings on the newsgroup. The idea was that
if we could clear the ground, we'd encourage more detailed and in-depth
discussion about Robert Asprin. In fact, the completion of the FAQ was suppose
to coincide with a sci-fi convention that Asprin was going to attend and a
newsgroup regular would bring the newsgroup to his attention. (In other words,
we wanted alt.fan.asprin to look a little more professional than a group of
people complaining about Asprin's low literary output.)
The project didn't quite work out. The FAQ certainly got rid of the annoying
"When is the next Myth book coming out?" question presented by visitors to the
newsgroup for their first and last time, but the end result was to rid the
newsgroup of almost all of its occasional postings. What was left was everyone
who had contributed to the FAQ and had discussed Asprin's works inside and out.
As for the man Asprin himself, he was told about the newsgroup but showed as
little interest in its existence as he does the idea of writting Something
M.Y.T.H. Inc.
Needless to say, for those of us here with weak hearts, the entire event was a
shattering experience. (Once again, I'm going for extremes here.) So what
resulted was the lack of the FAQ being regularly posted. And its lack of
regularly being updated. (Due to tax purposes, I can't really update the FAQ
without a co-writer, anyways.)
So here we are a couple of years later and the topic of the FAQ has raised its
ugly head again. Since I've been woefully negligent with it, I'll certainly
pass on the helm to whomever wants it. The web page section needs to be
changed. The newest Phule book is out (and it turned out not to be called
Phule's Gold after all).
So for those interested in seeing the FAQ before someone takes a crack at
rewriting the old version, you can catch it at:

Since GeoDuck (known to the F.B.I. as Robert "Rabble Rouser" Cook) was kind
enough to e-mail me and ask, I'm going to hand him the dirty business of
cleaning up the FAQ and placing blame and credit where it is due. (And Cook
learns the dreaded meaning behind the phrase, "be careful what you wish for.")
And that's about it.
Perhaps when my life isn't a whirlwind, I'll settle back down here and write a
few thoughts about A Phule and his Money once I've read it. Until then, take
care.

p.s. Contrary to popular belief, I didn't disappear because of my overdue debt
to Charles Billings. While it was true that owed Charles over $30,000 (the man
charges a hefty interest), it isn't true that he hired some goons to "erase"
me. As one of his associates, named Rico, said to me during their visit, "Mr.
Billings likes to be paid promptly, but he's also aware that dead men don't pay
off their debt." An enlightened viewpoint, I thought. The fact that they
restrained themselves enough not to hit me in the face during their otherwise
brutal beating leads me to conclude that Mr. Billings is a true gentleman. A
gentleman that will get paid as quickly as I can make my minimum wage job cough
up the necessary amount. All I ask, Mr. Billings, is that you don't torch my
house again before the March 31st deadline. Many thanks.
