Couple to wed wearing Duck Tape
UNIVERSAL CITY, California (CNN) -- Imagine donning duct tape on your wedding
day.

That's what Kevin Thomas and Joyce Lotta will be wearing when they get married
on September 29 at Universal Studios. The couple had the winning entry in the
"Stuck on You" contest sponsored by the makers of Duck brand tape.

Fashion designer Brian McKinney created a bridal gown and tuxedo jacket for the
couple to wear. The pastor's stole, bride and bridesmaid's bouquets, wedding
cake and other floral arrangements and decorations will also be made of Duck
Tape.

A majority of the 75 wedding guests will fly in for the event, many traveling
from New York. After the September 11 terrorist attacks on New York and
Washington, Thomas and Lotta considered postponing their wedding. But some of
Lotta's relatives -- including Sal D'Agostino, a New York City firefighter who
survived the collapse of the World Trade Center -- urged the couple to keep
their wedding date.

::shakes head::: Imagine what a painful wedding night that will be. Unless
they've already been waxed.

Hmm.. for a wedding song.. Lionel Ritchie... not sure what it's called but the
lyrics are, "Stuck on you, got a feeling deep down in my soul that I just can't
loose. . . "

I think the idea is to fold over the tape so it has the smooth silver on
the inside as well as the outside....

Ya know, I have often wondered why there isn't a rennie geek code. I'm not a geeky enough rennie to do it (either in technical terms or in ren purity
score), but it seems like someone out there must be ....

Those things are nothing but a bunch of meaningless letters and numbers to
anyone who doesn't want to take the time to look all them up. It's more fun to
read the full descriptions in the elaborate sig files.

Not surprising...from what I understand, the "Duck" brand of duct tape
sponsored a competition at nationwide high schools. The kids were supposed
to make their prom outfits using duct tape. There are several colors of the
stuff available, and the pictures were awesome. Some of those kids had
terrific talent and imagination.
