Though he's gone on to co-starring roles in everything from Eureka to
The Big Bang Theory, Wil Wheaton will always be known by his most famous
roleâ€" Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wesley Crusher. But looking
back at his time on Trek, Wheaton said there are a few things that
missed the mark early on.
The biggest problem, according to Wheaton? The show's focus, which most
fans would likely agree was somewhat scattershot in the early going. He
told Ain't It Cool News  he's still embarrassed for a few early low
points, but is proud the series was able to survive long enough to find
its footing later on:
We really struggled to figure out who we were and what we were about in
the first year. I don't think anybody really knew. And the entire first,
almost first two seasons have some incredible high points like "The Big
Goodbye" and some really embarrassing low points like "Code of Honor."
I'm really grateful that we were given the time to sort of find
ourselves and figure out exactly what this show is about because by the
time Next Generation gets to season 3, 4 or 5 I think its some of the
best science fiction that's ever been on television.
