just wondering, will this mix explode:
46 parts analytical grade polystyrene
33 parts 110 octane racing gasoline (or would pure octane be better?
What about deisel?)
21 parts analytical grade benzene
----------------------------------------------------
Napalm-B
70 parts Napalm-B
20 parts Fenton's reagent
10 parts aluminum perchlorate (what about ammonium perchlorate?)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Self-oxidizing Napalm-B
Basically, I need this stuff to BURN *VERY* HOT, and NOT EXPLODE. I
don't want my house demolished. Also, will this burn underwater, due to
the oxidizers? Will the aluminum in the aluminum perchlorate react with
the iron oxide in the Fenton's reagent and start a thermite reaction?
What will be the net products of thease reactions? What should I use to
ignite this? Thanks!!!!!!
PS Is this the right forum to be posting incedinary questions on?

I figured it out A LONG time ago, thank you very much.
First name Louden I pressume?
The gentleman in question clearly stated that he wished to burn his
junk, and his inquiry was wether any of the mentioned compositions
would explode.
As we all know, an explotion would be rather effortless when it comes
to incinerating rubbish in the backyard.
So why don't we forfill the old lads wishes and furnish him with a
recipe for a composition that would most certainly NOT explode?
Cheers! :-)

Because NAPALM is not meant to burn junk, it's porpuse is to kill
people. It sticks to the skin and burns very hot. Also, one of its
products is CO wich is very dangerous and can strangulation.
If this guy wants to burn some junk, he can burn it in bonfire, or use
normal petrol.

Ice-B, your an Idiot... What Dufus would use Napalm B to incenterate
trash? Good old Diesel #2 with a touch of unleaded Gasoline works
just fine for that purpose. Been using that for years, and it even
works on Magzine Paper Stock, which everyone is abvout as flameable
as dirt......
Me another newbie, is heard from.....
I don't suppose we speak the same language here.
What I had in mind was to advice him to add 30% cement and 60% sand in
the mixture.
The result would most certainly NOT explode, and I seriously doubt that
he will ever manage to ignite it, so...
Ah yes, I know perfectly well what Napalm-B is, and it's rather gosly
effects, thank you.
By the way, did any of us ever suspect that he actually wanted a
bonfire, or that he was really going to burn trash at all?
Cheers!

Irony seems such a waste here...
First:
"What Dufus would use Napalm B to incenterate trash?"
None that I have heard about since I left the service, there was
commander there though who found a lot of amusement in using government
issued ordnance for the purpose of getting rid of unwanted items.
His favourite was one block of C4 followed with Napalm-B...
Anyway, no!
The earlier mentioned "Dufus" had no intention of burning his trash.
That's why I would have loved to give him a recipe for something that
wouldn't be close...
A fair chance that after spending money, time, and effort to no gain,
he would think twice before trying again.
As it is now, he will probably work his way through the entire internet
untill he finds the correct mixture...
Magazine Paper Stock is a constant memento of how ulcers start, your
recipe will work even better if you stack it on top of some logs and
make sure there's a rich and constant airflow underneath.
And a very good day to you!

Given the choice I wouldn't even give him a box of matches.

There recently was an excellent group of posts made to
alt.binaries.ebook.technical.
everything from black powder to RDX.
a quart of deisel fuel alone on some newspapers would burn his trash
just fine..................................
ifso facto :)
My guess (and I don't even intend to ever try it) is that it will still burn
but Solid Oxidizers (KNO3 for example) would actually dampen the effect of
the "Napalm".
I put a tiny bit of poor mans napalm on the tip of an arrow once. One must
rememember to hold ones breath. That stuff is nasty.
