yeah armstrong mix is i believe that stuff in cap guns, you know those
guns we as little kids played with that popped popped when we pull the
trigger.
do you have pics/video? i would love to see these in action
In case anybody is interested, I did some experimenting with these
targets since last post. The KCLO3/sulfer/dark al work 100% of the
time. I have an unorthodoxed method for mixing these targets. Behind
my house is a hill about 100 feet high, very steep 4x4 track right up
the middle. I park at the top, add previously weighed ingredients to
HDPE jars so that it does NOT mix, only sits in three layers. Screw
the lid on and let em roll down the hill. They roll and tumble for a
good fifteen seconds of mixing time. Then I shoot 'em! I never handle
mixed flash. HA! They wind up about 100 yards away making a
challenging shot with an unscoped .22, but damn, you know when you
connect! Better than Tannerite because of the blinding flash (I did
this at dusk) and loud as hell with mushroom cloud rocketing up into
the sky. Then I tried perchlorate. Works like a charm too. I made
the Ofca comp of KCl04, sulfer, and dark al. just as you would for a
salute. These I used dixie cups well covered with foil and a rubber
band. Just toss it down the slope as before. Fun as hell. Using
perchlorate and gravity to mix, I feel safe enough to engage in this
childish activity. One oz. is enough to blow your hair back a bit.
The benefit of the .22 is no hearing protection, the echo across the
valley is superb. Dan
Just glad to hear that you're not handling quantities of that formula
mixed..
