The oil make the solution more viscous, so it sticks to things better.

Oil makes it stick to whatever it hits.
I've always wanted to drive by a firework stand at 80 and throw a moltov cocktail
into it. Would make a pretty show :)

Yeah....
Might kill the proprietor, and a customer or two, and maybe injure a
fireman as well, but it sure would be a pretty show.
Instead of fantasizing about risking somebodies life and destroying their
livelyhood, why not fantasize about winning the lottery and BUYING the
stand, and exploding it under controlled conditions with no bystanders?
