If 'minime' is an American English word, it's one that I -- and my
dictionaries -- don't know. It is a word in Italian. There is a
product with the tradename MiniMe, and a character in the Austin Powers
movies is called Mini-Me (= a small version of myself).

It might be used in the phrase "in minime". I think that is the
correct Latin form of the word for that preposition. In such a case
it means "minimum".
I'd appreciate if you would put the topic within the post itself and
not make me read the subject line. It's hard for me to read that way.

It's the name of an automatic, long-barreled firearm in some circles. (I
read it just a couple of night's ago in Andy McNab's "Immediate Action"). A
little googling tells me that this is equivalent to the C9 for Canadians,
and the M249 SAW for Americans if that's any help.
Martin.
Also copious references in McNab's 'Bravo Two Zero' (I was surprised he
never cashed in on that with a 'Bravo Two One'
And if you want to see one -
