A viewer sent in a poem to the live show Sunday Night at the London
Palladium and host Brucie (Bruce Forsyth) read it to the audience...

Bronco Layne had a pain
So they sent for Wagon Train
Wagon Train was no good
So they sent for Robin Hood
Robin Hood lost his bow
So they sent for Ivanhoe
Ivanhoe killed a man
So they sent for big Cheyenne
Big Cheyenne was having tea
So they sent for Laramie
Laramie lost its cargo
So they sent for Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo lost its hunter
So they sent for Billy Bunter
Billy Bunter was too large
So they sent for I'm in Charge!

The following week another viewer (or the same one) wrote to Brucie...

I'm In Charge was too thin
So they sent for Rin Tin Tin
Rin Tin Tin was having dinner
So they sent for Yul Brynner
Yul Brynner had no hair
So they sent for Dan Dare
Dare Dare lost his slogan
So they sent for Alma Cogan
Alma Cogan lost control
So they sent for Highway Patrol
Highway Patrol were out at noon
So they sent for Daniel Boone
Daniel Boone signed a treaty
So they sent for poor old Beattie!

Brucie said, "Please! No more poems!".

Beattie was a lady in the audience Brucie spoke to - you can see TV shows
free in England!

Mike Green read out all this out on Skyline Gold yesterday morning, lol!

Not great poetry, but an interesting snapshot.

The version I remember of "Part 2" went:

I’m-In-Charge was too thin
So they sent for Rin-Tin-Tin
Rin-Tin-Tin was having his dinner
So they sent for Yul Brynner
Yul Brynner was fined for parkin’
So they sent for Ada Larkin
Ada Larkin was writing a slogan
So they sent for Alma Cogan
Alma Cogan was with a twerp
So they sent for Wyatt Earp
Wyatt Earp had broken his ribs
So they sent for Shotgun Gibbs
Shotgun Gibbs had a hole in his pocket
So they sent for Davy Crockett
Davy Crockett was signing a treaty
So they sent for dear old Beattie.
