# One big cat that justa hates a fight
# When he walks down the street

What does Jack actually say?
I've never seen the vid, have got the 45, checked Google, but what Jack says
is still a mystery.

Google found this with a search for:
screaming lord sutch jack the ripper lyrics

http://w.lyrics-top.com/258031-3167/Jack-The-Ripper/Screaming-Lord-Sutch.html

When he walks down the streets
To every girl he meets, he says, is your name Mary Blood?

This agrees:

However this has "Mary Kelly" which might be correct because Mary Kelly
was Jack the Ripper's final victim:

Well, in the movie 'Jack the Ripper' (1958) starring Lee Patterson the
Ripper would say to his victims, "Mary Clark?" just before attacking them so
I wondered if Lord Sutch said, "Is your name Clark?", but it certainly
doesn't sound like "Mary Blood" with all that screaming going on.

Thanks, Peter - very interesting! :-)

Always thought it went...

# That's a time he starts his dirty up-shove around ("up chop", say the
lyrics!)
# If they do, man they'll get, the leather YEAH! ("the Ripper, YEAH", say
the lyrics!)

I ain't convinced.

Copping another listen, Lord Sutch actually sings...

# Is your name Blood?
AND
# Dirty up chop around
AND
# Man they'll get the leather YEAH!

Nice one, Peter - you have solved a forty-seven year-old mystery!

All we need to do now is to solve an older mystery - Who was Jack the
Ripper?
