add light ON/OFF timer to existing electrical system ?

Hello,

I would like to add to my garage remote controlled door shade a timer so
when I open my garage door with a remote control that opens the
electrical garage door.

I mean I would like to add in this system a timer that when the
elctricity goes to turn on the motor that opens the garage door also the
fluoruscent lights of the garage stay on with a timer or at least for
the time the garage doot is open, whatever is easier, maybe timer is
easier, off course I want the lights still to be turned on from the wall
switch too.

Please tell me what is the easiest way to achieve this and what I have
to buy to add to the existing electrical system.

Is it easier just to buy a remote controlled switch and replace the
existing wall switch ?
