Controlling the Chaos: Time Management and Strategy in Bad Times and Good
A consulting business demands that you spend time and effort operating
your own business, as well as doing many overhead tasks that an
employer would take care of for you. Not to mention doing the paying
work itself! When times are bad, time management can be difficult
because it is unclear in which direction to proceed. But things can
be worse when times are good, because of the temptation to spend all
available time doing paying work, neglecting sales and marketing, and
even neglecting essential administrative tasks. This leads to the
notorious overwork/underwork cycle of consulting and organizational
disruption.
This meeting of the Consultants Network will feature a panel
discussion by experienced consultants on the art and science of time
management. They will discuss how they keep their businesses under
control and their activities aligned with their business and personal
goals, in both good times and bad.
After the main presentation, there will be an extended audience
question and answer period. We expect a lively exchange of views,
strategies, and information.
This meeting of the Consultants' Network is scheduled for 7:00 pm
Wednesday, April 22 at Arthur D. Little Co., 25 Acorn
Park, Cambridge. An unsubsidized pre-meeting dinner will be held at
Bertucci's at the Alewife T-Station at 5:30 PM (PROMPTLY). For more
