Interesting, two stories on the same page about a
sudden boom in US uranium mining.

From this I will assume that the leadership sees
a nuclear-power future for the USA. This is fine,
though they need a better scheme for disposing of
the leftovers, and represents a third option between
nasty coal and unreliable wind/solar/etc.

A few days back I posted a story of how France is
suddenly going heavier into nuke. It has been a
long-time proponent, but current events have
prompted a building boom.

BTW, France usually stores its leftovers ON SITE
in concrete/metal containment vessels buried a bit
into the ground. For the USA, storage sites at a
few military bases might be the safest fix - keep
it where it can be watched, but out-of-town.
