Of course they earths climate is in a state of flux or do you beleive it
doesn't change
Whacko greenies believe that the earth's climate was unchanging until
***EVIL*** anthropogenic CO2 started rising!

"It is a remarkable fact that despite the worldwide expenditure of perhaps
US$50 billion since 1990, and the efforts of tens of thousands of scientists
worldwide, no human climate signal has yet been detected that is distinct
from natural variation."

Sorry everybody knows that climate changes, the evidence is that a the
moment we are going through a warming phase. Your point is what?
was unchanging until
> ***EVIL*** anthropogenic CO2 started rising!
So you don't believe that anthropogenic CO2 levels are rising or you do?
Sorry,
EXCEPT for those who believe in the fraudulent "Hockey Stick" graph!

Yes, CO2 levels are most probably rising, but let's not confuse cause and
effect.
Geological records show that temperature changes precede CO2 changes.
OK now we are getting somewhere. We agree that climate is always in a state
of flux. Do you believe that the climate is getting warmer of cooler? We
agree that anthropogenic CO2 levels are rising ( obviously as we are pumping
more of the stuff out) and that probably CO2 levels in general are rising.
Fantastic now lets get down to it your pov is what?
The earth typically warms... during the day. And cools at night.
The diurnal temperature swing is anywhere from 20 to 40 deg F each
day.
Our current hysteria concerns a 0.3 to 0.7 deg C change over a
century.
I just don't get it.
Oh, where to begin....
Lets see, the keyword is AVERAGE rise or fall in temperature, over long
periods of time.
Example; during the last ice age, the average temperature was only 4 - FOUR
degrees C below today.
I live in Norway.
We were covered with an ice layer up to 2000 meters, that's about 6000 ft.
So. 4 degrees C is the difference between 6000 ft of ice, or country with
lush summers and winter temperatures about +5 - -5 C
Get it now?

During the last Ice age, how were average temperatures measured, and
by who?
In the last 190 years CO2 levels fluctuated
from 225 ppm to 460ppm. the last 400+
was in 1946. Given the current avg annual rise
it would take 150 years to reach 460 ppm by
which time the polar ice will be inching
toward the equator.

• Anthropogenic CO2 levels can not be measured.
They enter the photosynthetic carbon cycle daily.

OK the climate is changing all the time. Do you believe given you have
studied all the data believe that we are currently in a warming or a cooling
phase or that for the first time in history nothing is happening?
Personally from what I have read and taking into account the opinions of the
leading scientists I believe we are currently in a warming phase.
From the tone of your posting I guess that you "dont buy into this
climate-thingy"
1. The first thing climate deniers bring to the discussion table is always
"average temperatures has fluctuated wildly through the ages.
Climate change is nothing new"
Now you're saying that we DONT have a good estimate on the changing
temperatures the last 100 000 - 200 000 years?
2. Look up "ice core samples" and read. A lot.

Since you have brought in history, consider this:—
• Since you have brought in history have a look at this:
Dr Genvieve Woillard et al made several points
1- The earth has functioned in 100,000 year
cycles with 10 to 12,000 year interglacials.
2- The end of the last glaciation ended more
than 13,000 years ago. Ergo: the iceman
is coming sooner than later.
3= Woillard, concluded from detailed studies
that the shift from a warm, interglacial
climate to ice age conditions at the
beginning of the last ice age, some 100,000
years ago, took "less than 20 years." She
concluded we may be in a similar period of
rapid climatic change.
4- Research has shown that this 20-year period
is one in which Mother Nature wreaks havoc
on humanity.
> Personally from what I have read and taking into account the opinions of the
> leading scientists I believe we are currently in a warming phase.
• Pray tell what 'leading scientists' did you consult?
• I take the historical view supported by the "real"
data, not destroyed by the cabal and the coulda,
woulda, shoulda and maybe bunch.
I believe we are entering the last phase in which
Mother Nature wreaks havoc
on humanity.

Carbon-14 is produced by cosmic rays striking the upper
atmosphere and decays very slowly. Coal, oil, gas and other
fossilized carbon reserves are very old and contain virtually
no carbon-14.
The use of the carbon-14 isotope has been used for many a year
now to track anthropogenic CO2 release. Anthropogenic CO2 was
first detected in the atmosphere in 1955.

I sawe that letter in Nature. Not sure how the veiws of a palentologist
greatly assists your argument. Actually not sure what you are trying to
argue except that climate is always changing

By global warming, global cooling or by climate staying the same
• Neither coal, petroleum, nor natural gas are
"fossilized". Any fossils found were captured
passing through the crust. Deep wells in Russia,
Arabia and Brazil have no fossils.
• All, repeat ALL of the CO2 in the atmosphere
is carried up within warm H2O vapour.
Naturally an amount of the anthropogenic
emissions fall into water.
> The use of the carbon-14 isotope has been used for many a year
> now to track anthropogenic CO2 release. Anthropogenic CO2 was

• I am skeptical of the efficacy of the carbon-14
test
• I am skeptical of the accuracy however it has
been recorded that the anthropogenic
element in the atmosphere was no more than
3.5% or 13.475 ppm. It s so transient that in
any area there can be significant levels of CO2
and by afternoon all gone. All it takes is 2 or 3
hours of rain. So all of the measurements
depend on the season and the weather and
perhaps the time of day
• I care not one whit what you 'think'. I have little
respect for your intelligence

realizing that they really mean "global warming"

• It is my belief that the beginning to the end of
the interglacial began 11,000 years after the
end of the ice age. We have had 2,000± years
with extreme hot periods and extreme colds
and now we are coming to the end of the line.
My guess is that we will have 50 or so years
of weather/climate events, Extreme hot spots
and cold spots, increasingly heavy
precipitation, tornados, increasing tectonic/
volcanic activity, etc
• My guess is that some time after 2050 that the
polar ice will start to creep towards the Equator
