Novelty diplomas being pathetic imitations of the original college
diploma due to copy protected university or college logos, crests,
seals, watermarks, etc. changed to such degree the net result are
trinkets not resembling the original document any longer.
Replica being undistiguishable from the original diploma.
All sites that used to produce true replicas were shut down a few
years ago(*) since their products were re-classified as counterfeit
documents.
That gave rise to an industry still claiming to produce true replicas
yet delivering novelty diplomas hardly resembling the original
document. Thus, deceiving and defrauding customers. In other words,
fake diploma scammers took over the entire market where several
individuals are now running parallel sites exploiting various price
points just by changing the price list, site name and graphics(**).
In spite of widely available and comprehensive manual ,,How To Avoid
Being Scammed By Fake Diploma Fraudsters" (download link:

the scam continues to survive in all kinds of shades of deception such
as providing digital proofs in the form of retouched and doctored
scans while physically mailing a computer disk with nothing on it or
sending a blank piece of paper.
Also, sites such as FakeDiplomaSale ( www. FakeDiplomaSale.com )
incorporate disclaimers protecting them from complaints and refunds
( http://www.fakediplomasale.com/fake-diploma-faq.htm ):
1) "We accept payments through Western Union, and Bank Wire Transfers"
2) "We accept 50% initial payment to initiate your order, ..."
3) "....return the document to us in its original condition for a full
refund minus a design fee equal to 50% of your order total".
Thus, if the "your order total" for a diploma w/ transcript & shipping
is $800, the combination of these 3 conditions lets FakeDiplomaSale
keep $400 (Western Union & Wire Transfers are final) without having to
provide any goods or be in any way accountable.
Since true diploma replicas are no longer available, has the need for
replica diplomas been replaced by an uptake in ,,degree mill" diplomas
to prop-up qualifications required for certain jobs?

This is not about ethics or whether it is right/wrong to use
counterfeit documents as one sees fit.

(*) My opinion, no research done but willing to bet a lot of $$ there
is not one single site around today capable of producing anything
usable.
