ELVIS PORTRAIT

I just have to tell everybody this news! ĸMy husband, Harold, ĸis
an artist and he's been traveling. He ĸphoned me ĸfrom Memphis,
TN, after he'd visited Graceland. When he walked into a room set
up as a type of shrine he ĸsaw a bunch of paintings ĸof ĸElvis on
the wall - AND there ĸwas ĸone pastel portrait there that HE MADE
(in 1974)! Wow! Was he excited! So am I!
He ĸsaid he felt really elated to see his work on ĸdisplay there;
and ĸit ĸ"made his day." ĸI'll say! ĸMade my day, ĸtoo!!! ĸĸThe
security people at Graceland were ĸvery nice (they were ĸexcited,
too, to meet the artist), and allowed Harold to stay there a long
time and draw a picture of the room ĸand its contents! (No flash
bulbs allowed, so he drew a picture!)
He ĸalso copied his original portrait of Elvis! ĸHarold IS ĸvery
good; ĸĸno question about that (even though people would say ĸI'm
partial). He has a unique ability to capture a likeness. (A few
samples could be sent if anyone wants to see some.)
Harold ĸwas working at Lake Tahoe in 1974, ĸwhen I believe ĸElvis
last played there (or last that I know of in that area). I ĸwent
to the show, ĸand it was wonderful, ĸof course. ĸMethinks a ĸfan
asked ĸHarold to make the Elvis portrait, ĸand perhaps later ĸmay
have donated it to Graceland. I'm just guessing.
Does anyone know how I would go about approaching the possibility
of ĸmy husband offering his Elvis portrait(s) ĸat Graceland, ĸĸor
utilizing his talent for other Elvis memorabilia? Both of us are
old timers (60 something) ĸand I hope this message doesn't offend
anyone. ĸĸTruly I did not subscribe to this conference with ĸthe
intent ĸof "selling" ĸanything, ĸand it merely occurred to me ĸto
mention the very slight "connection" with the subject here. <g>
If I'm way off base, please let me know, as I prefer to be a good
contributor here, and lurker. Thank you.
