Anyone know of any other POPULAR songs that mention or make reference to
Elvis?

1) Black Velvet
2) Walking In Memphis
3) The King Is Gone
4) Graceland (Paul Simon)

Thanks,
Rich

Speaking of songs that mention Elvis, what do people think of Bill Medley's
Old Friend, that was featured on the Graceland video from 1985? I really
liked the tribute, got it on MP3 a few months back, on Morpheus

" Old Friend"is the best tribute song I ever heard!
I'm looking for that song for years now, I know that Bill Medley put it on
one of his albums, I wouldn't know wichone though...anybody?
Another good one is that sons wich is on Joe Esposito's DVD "His Best Friend
Remembers".
That song is called "Crying Like Memphis"", I can't tell you the name of the
lady who sings it right now...sorry.

- That don't impress me much from Shania Twain
("what d'you think you're Elvis or something?")

- When (also from Shania Twain)
"And hear on CNN that Elvis lives again"

- Walking in Memphis (various artists)

Hi There

I did a bit of searching and the album Old Friend is on is an 1985 album
called Still Hung Up On You, catalogue no RCA CPL1 5352. I got the song on a
file sharing programme called Kazaa, spent a while looking for it. If anyone
really wants it, e-mail me on pre...@iol.ie and I will send it as an
attachment. I won't be around tomorrow but I will send it when I get back
Monday...

Ok, so I am a glutten for punishment.
I have a couple to add to the list of songs that refer to Elvis:

"Who's Going to Fill their Shoes", by George Jones.

"Tupelo" by Nick Cave

it)

--"I Saw Elvis in a UFO," Ray Stevens

Ray Stevens also sings an Elvis-type bit in his song, "The Rock and Roll
Show." He never mentions Elvis by name but he's clearly imitating E.
