I have never heard nothing about Elvis singing Be Bop a Lula. I know that
Elvis met Gene Vincent en 1956, and was very surprised when the first thing
Vicent did was apologizing because he sounded a lot like Elvis. That was, If
I'm not wrong, a few weeks after Vincent published the records with
Be-Bop-A-Lula and Woman Love. What I know is that there are a box of
records, with tapes published during the Army Days, in Germany. In those
tapes, Elvis recorded a lot of songs with the piano he had in his house in
germany. And I remember that a lot of that songs are hits from the 50s.
(Specially, doo-woop songs). I don't have that box, but a friend of mine has it. I
will ask him if Be-Bop-A-Lula is amongst that songs.
