I was watching a program on TV last night, and they mentioned that
Elvis's colon was so inpacted, that it weighed forty five pounds when
they performed the Autopsy. I have never heard this before, but if this
is true, that would have been life threatening, in its self! It would
also explain the weight gain, and bloat. Has anyone else heard this?

his colon was 65.

he had colon disease.

according to some 'reports' i read... he was 230? at death.. they
removed the colon and his body weight was 170.

so 'they' say... things as usual with mr. presley are different all
around... but the rounded out report on the colon i heard was 65lbs
quite often.

though john wayne's colon at death was 80lbs.

this is not a rare problem.... impacted colons are quite common
unfortunately.

Squid, you're pretty doggone intelligent. " I knew it" ; )
> Yes, this is sadly true. I have heard of it, as well as seen cases where the colon is impacted with a sludge type clay substance that almost calcifies to cement. In cases where it cannot be cleared, the colon is removed and a colostomy is put in place.
Rather extreme measures. Continuous use of medications that cause
chronic constipation such as Codeine can be partly to blame.
Most laymen don't have any idea which parts of the body are the
largest, heaviest, lightest, most insignificant, and useless (if you
will) or those that can sometimes regenerate, and those that do not.
Also the danger in the fact that eye infection or disease can travel
easily from the bad eye to the good. And while I am on Ripley's Believe
it or not tonight, parts of the brain daamaged in an accident sometimes
will compensate in areas of the brain, on the right or left limbic
sections or lobes to do what they never were intened to do.
Interestingly enough, you injury the left brain, and your right side of
the body fails to function, visa versa. And there have been a few cases
where the heart is located on the (R) rather than the left. Colorectal
disorders have always presented a major problem, as this is often
inherited, and the exams ever so embarrassing. Some people refuse
treatment. I don't know if Elvis did or not.

Yes Bill,
You might be surprised at where else this information is floating
around.
Not to say any of it is completely true. I rather stay out of things I
can't "Prove." it is a bit late in the game to try to settle it.
But for every one thing that is extremely true; there are twice as many
that are not.

Yes I saw a documentary and they had a replica of Elvis's colon and a
replica of Elvis heart which was also enlarged.

They also said that he had all manner of problems going to the bathroom as
in the words of the narrator "he was blocked up with a clay like substance
(stool). which put pressure on his heart.

Do not take these as my words but it also said his Mom had similar problems
with an enlarged heart and a reason for this could have been marriage
between close family way back.

I forget the name of the documentary, When they showed the size of the
colon it was enormous and would have caused extreme blockage on the inside.

With the health problems Elvis had and the physical and mental stress he
had, he should never have been allowed to work when he was ill. It is just
not right and he was very badly advised and was living in a very unhealthy
atmosphere. Today people would check into a clinic, and if I were him I
would have disappeared for at least a year.

His manager and his hangers on would have shit seven shades of yellow when
they found the goose that laid the golden eggs was not at home.

The man needed a change of environment and away from the music business for
a while, there must have been a few around that knew he did not have long
left IMO.

There is some kind of colon cleansing method developed by a company
that to boost sales has produced a promotional video much like a video
you'd see promoting a cruise or a vacation spot...it must be a half
hour long and it was on the television guide channel the other night,
and it was quite informative, if a bit weird. I only watched a couple
minutes of it, but I bet just about any thing you need to know about
colon care and flushing it out can be found in that ad. I wouldn't be
surprised if they used the Elvis statistic somewhere in it.

It is all so "IN" now to do the colon cleansing stuff...but was not at
that time and year. Also, the colon cannot be cleansed of stone like
substances, although they might like to make people believe this so
they can make some money.
In my opinion, cleasing is just a preventitive measure, and not always
a cure anyhow.
People respond so differently to treatments, both medically and
holistically, that it is any wonder I have read people have literally
died from using health food products sworn to be safe...it is one field
the FDA has no crdible influence on. Mixing and matching a little this
and that herbal cures, adds up to just so much poison.

i read/heard that this was not only inherited? but of course the
medications compounded it terribly too.

any medication for prolonged use will deaden the digestional tract and
harden materials... even if you intake alot of moisture.

i have trouble. here i am a vegetarian and not overweight but
medications i'm on make it difficult.. a good bowel movement is a
celebration!

i know TMI.

elvis was too damned young to ordeal in abdominal issues..

i heard about the 'twisted colon' and i also heard about...
'peforated colon'....

not good.. even if it's just more of the elvis legend.. but something
was amiss.. it's hard to get an impacted colon.....

but if he had colon disease.. there ya have it.

?

but any digestional issues is too common place now days... elvis was
one of many...

i think maurice gibb died of a blockage.... i can't name the
others right off hand but a many of well known names in the biz...
have died in relationship to digestional complications.

well remember kathy.. and others of course...

having any pressure in the abdomen is a huge problem...

it take very little weight pressure to cause major issues....
remember GERD? just a wee bit of weight pressure on the stomach and
kapowie! acid reflux heaven! and we know we can die from a bursted
esophagus due to acid reflux disease.

colon pressure.. from fossilized fecal materials can cause much damage
to the intestines... then if they're being effected... then the liver
is scrunched and we need a happy and flexible liver for many reasons
other than that nightly filtration and cholesterol/lipid production....

the pancreas doesn't like to be folded... the stomach of course and
if all this is happening.. mr. heart ain't going to be too happy
either.. mr. heart is chambers ... a balloon with 4 chambers.. not a
book... being pressed shut so it'll just fit into the shelf of the
digestional cavities.

it's not a joke.. some laugh... well it's hard not to laugh sometimes
when making snotty remarks about "pushing too hard.. straining to hard
on the can" you really can "pop something important" if you
strain... doctors complain when you miss the call from mommy
nature... or you have issues with movement... AND if you force the
movement.. all that tissue is tender in there... it can tear easier
than paper.

folks have got to watch out for that colon cleansing stuff too....
going from one extreme to another is just as dangerous... along with
the dehydration prevention that is used.. one can become water logged
death in a matter of minutes.

if not lesser.

technically if this information is truth to any cause...

elvis was always impaled.. and wearing those costumes.. jumping
around...

hell walking.. sitting was fuck'n miserable...

being impaled... is like... going to kill you sooner or later..

concrete in the colon...

yeh and to add.. he stayed in shape... oh i'm sure he'da had a buzz or
two or three. i mean habits are hard to break.. i'm not beating him
over that...

and he and the colonel would break up eventually and elvis would set
himself free to do some rather nice movies.. hell i would have loved
to him in the changling... (george c. scott) where elvis is the
composer who lives in the possessed house... then do something else
blah blah.. shorten it up much later on a older and still in good shape
elvis doing the lord of the rings.. ? ya know.. by that time elvis
would have been quite seasoned in the movie genre and been able to take
on long term projects... in the movie element that is.

can see elvis in the role that morgan freeman had in shawshank...

but i'm not removing folks from their great performances just
fantasizing.

and stuff...

I think you have to just follow a healthy diet, some light exercise,
and hope for the best.

I just saw the ad again...they use statistics on John Wayne and Elvis
in the ad...their website is www.7DMC.com, but I haven't checked that
out yet.
