During the 60's when he first came on the scene, some people kidded him
saying he looked like Elvis. We heard that the first time he visited one of
Elvis' movie sets. They were friendly towards each other and kidded around
about that but there was no great friendship. He didn't look like Elvis to
me nor to Elvis.
Then in the 70's Lee would come to Vegas and when he did he would come
backstage as many celebrities did after the show.
Lee was a nice guy.

Thanks. That's what I thought as well, but a book I re-read this week said
he was working as a bodyguard so I felt like asking you. Here's a quote from
the book: "Lee Majors was working as a bodyguard for Elvis and wearing a TCB
necklace. When Elvis introduced Majors on stage he told the audience that
Majors wouldn't let his wife, Farrah Fawcett, have a TLC necklace. His exact
words were, "He wants a TCB, but he won't bring his wife around me... he
married the girl who does the shampoo commercials. I hate him!" Elvis
actually had Majors move in slow motion as he did on the "Six Million Dollar
Man" (quote end).
The book quoted is "Raised on Elvis! Elvis! Elvis!" by Sandi Haynes Pichon.
She used to post here before. Recommended book. Despite the error on Majors
and a few others, very entertaining reading. Here's a review;

Lee was a nice guy, with a good sense of humor. Back in the early
1990s he came to my hometown Charleston, South Carolina, along with
Lindsey Wagner and the rest of that group to film some kind of Bionic
Woman - Six Million Dollar Man reunion called "Bionic Breakdown." By
the time they put it on TV though, they had changed the name to "Bionic
Ever After" because the premise of the show was that the two bionic
people were going to get married, and the wedding was in danger of not
happening when her body started breaking down. Of course, they caught
all the bad guys who were causing her problems and fixed her all up in
time for a happy ending.
A good friend of mine here runs the local casting company with his
sister and they used to call to ask if I wanted parts in films or
commercials being filmed here, and I used to do that a good bit. So I
ended up with a part in this awful TV movie, but my big scene was
basically walking across the lobby of this hotel with Lee Majors,
taking him to the place where Lindsey's wedding dress was laid out, so
he could have an emotional scene there because the wedding had to be
called off. Strangely enough, because they didn't want to pay my SAG
dues to use my voice I guess, by the time it was broadcast, they dubbed
some foreign guy over me, so I sound like a French dude talking.
They were having camera problems, so we ended up crouched under a
staircase forever waiting for our cue to start walking across the room.
We had a nice chat and ran some of his lines for later in the film,
but he was very friendly and hilariously funny and decided we should
walk out hunched over as a joke on the crew because we had been stuck
under this low ceiling waiting so long. We did, everybody got a big
laugh, and then we finished the scene correctly and walked outside to
the porch of the building where we were filming. It was crazy...all
these housewife types were screaming and waving whenever he would get
anywhere within view of them. The cops had to barricade them across
the street to keep them from interrupting the filming. I had no idea
he was that popular, but the women were going nuts. I wish I had asked
him about Elvis, but I never really thought about it.
Somebody I know in Florida said Lee lived across in a high rise in Ft.
Lauderdale and he was pretty much just a drunk whenever he went out
around there, but the entire time I was around him while he was filming
here he was just a total gentleman.

Interesting story. Thanks.
Hi Garry,
Great story................I am picturing Lee Majors running slowly
(with the music in my head................lol).
Love the story.............
Do you have any photos at all?
I used to love watching Six Million Dollar Man, and The Bionic
Woman...........smiling.........
I'm trying to recall the storyline of her body breaking
down.............I'm sure I would have
cried................lol................
Ahh the "olden days".................smile................
I didn't know Lee Majors had difficulties in later life, what a shame!!
Garry do you know, or does anyone else know, how he is going now?
Shame to hear things like that. The price of fame, certainly takes
chunks out of peoples lives (sad, isn't it?).
Kind wishes,
Jess
Hey Jess -
No, we didn't take any pictures, but somewhere here I have a VHS tape
of the broadcast and every now and then I'll notice it listed on the
Sci-Fi network schedule and I have to watch. I always get a kick out
of the French accented voice that seems to come out of my mouth. It
really wasn't a very good movie, though, but it was a fun one to do.
It's been a couple years since I've heard anything about Lee Majors,
but a friend of mine in Florida lived a building over from him and said
he often saw him out drinking Bombay gin and getting pretty intoxicated
in the bars and restaurants around where they live. While he was here
working, though, he couldn't have been friendlier...just a total pro.
Garry
Hi there Garry,
You made me laugh re the french accent coming out of your
mouth............I'm imaging it being out of sinc a bit
too............lol..........
I hope you tease your family, and tell them how clever you are with
accents!........smile.......
That is really sad to hear re Lee Majors. As a little girl, I was a
fan of Six Million Dollar Man, think it used to run Sunday nights, and
I always watched it.
I hope Lee Majors life improves, to hear how he is going is very sad,
he did appear to be a very nice, easy going and friendly
man..................
Kind wishes,
Jess
I was at a hi-rise hotel across from his condo and the bellman gave me
the tour of the neighborhood from the balcony and he told the same
story adding that Lee ended up tossing stuff from his balcony.
'I'm TV's Six Million Dollar Man, damnit!!!'
Another Elvis related fact when it comes to Lee Majors is that Red,
Priscilla and Linda Thompson all guest starred on Lee's other show 'The
Fall Guy".
