Superfraudster John Bear has announced his *retirement* from the Distance Learning world. Strange it coincides with George Brown and his recent arrest and bail on charges of fraud and corruption at the bogus International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide? Is this related?

Who really gives a damn already? Why don't you contribute something useful
and constructive to the discussions on distance education than your constant
tirades against Dr. Bear and George Brown?
People that I know in the distance education business have respect for Dr.
Bear. As for George Brown, if he is a criminal as you claim, it is up to the
justice system of the Commonwealth of Australia to make such a finding, and
to decide what penalty, if any is warranted.

Darren, I find it very strange that you don't believe that posts showing that
two "leading lights" providing information on Distance Education are such
suspicious characters is useful.

One (John Bear) "bids farewell" to this ng when his honesty is questioned, then
sets up a moderated board on which he can't be criticised, only to "retire"
suddenly after a few weeks and scoot off to Mongolia, comes back briefly to
"retire again".

This does not even touch on his founding of 3 of the worst degree mills of all
time.

The other (George Brown) disappears spectacularly when it is revealed that he
has been fraudulently selling degrees online for $11.500 each, he deletes his
site www.virtualuniversities.net without explanation, is being investigated for
his involvement in the loss of $1.8 million and has just been released from
Police custody.

And you don't think that is relevant information on Distance Education?

Who has to hide behind anonymous email addresses? Some people hide behind masks and hoods, yet others hide behind email addresses. I wonder if this is one person with a tripartite personality of Forrester-Peters-xganon? There appears to be some stylistic similarities in the
writing. What do you think? Do you see any petty, self-serving, insecure paranoia of the personalities behind such drivel? IMHO, anyone who viciously attacks another without cause or evidence is lacking of desirable personality traits. I wonder if the individual(s) would be bold
enough to post his/her name(s) and address(es) as to allow Dr. Bear to contest the charges with a libel suit. I understand that the easiest way to lose a libel case is to accuse a person without evidence of criminal activity for which he has not been convicted. I think a libel
suit would be interesting to watch--it might take away some of the self-assurance and cockiness.

Truth will prevail.
